but thats the thing, firing further away isnt necessarily better. They are just too easy to defeat. Firing later/closer, leaving less time to defend, can often be way better than long ranged shots.

Exactly. A/B are good within 15-20km
C5 is “good” outside of that but once you’re outside of 15km they just notch, chaff and the missile is ignored. It maneuvers worse due to smaller fins so even if it gets close it won’t catch planes as often doing hard turns.
So in the end the benefit of the enhanced BVR energy performance isn’t especially helped with the average seeker nor the shorter wings and heavier weight from the engine it has. The design falls flat gameplay wise.

no ? having only fox 2 missile does not make it 13.3.
both su27 and su33, one is heavy and slow, other is just a better f15a with better missile.

SU33 has way better FM due canards and boosted engines to counter the weight also it carrys extra missiles for only have 40 less CM
still not 13.3

I have more consistent frags with 7P than aim 120 ever could
there like infinitely better at tracking than standard AIM-7M which is why we need a tech tree plane at reasonble br with them like F14D
the sparrow struggles more from trash radar than being trash itself tbh. the datalink is a cherry on top.
(NGL i think all the hornets with sparrows should go up as they are so consistently good with them)

this is true but the data link helps immensely when tracking and when notching its a undervalued feature for missiles which is why i was very mad that it got locked behind a paywall
its really rare to see people try and notch, and usually i completley ruin their attempt but changing my flight direction a small bit, they never figure it out
14.0 for IRCCM missile?? The fa18c early litterally is in the same br with the mig 29 which has IRCCM missiles
