The AASM 'Hammer' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion

In case you guys missed the M1.4 drop source :

It’s in Wareta’s initial post => References => Documents => Assemblée Nationale, No .865

Edit : Wareta’s post, idk why i wrote Ares in the first place lmao

Yes it’s the one used for the reports afaik

@SidewaysCube946 I’m surprised, I expected it to use dual pylons for ground ordinances. Well, 4 ASRAAMs, 5 bombs isn’t to bad and could be somewhat competitive at high/top tier when this kind of missiles get introduced

I think there are plans to implement more but the Tejas would be very un-aerodynamic with a triple rack, it may be the size as well as the Tejas is a rather small plane.

which nation’s su27 carried them?

Ukrainian

Cool

So, the first image clearly shows a pair of GBU12s under a Mirage 2000D RMV.

Concerning the carriage of AASM under mirage, the bombs were “qualified” for firing using a DGA Mirage 2000N modified for firing campaigns, this campaign ended in 2010. However, Dassault opposed its use on the French Mirage 2000 for several years, wishing to make it exclusive to the Rafale. A few years ago this opposition was raised (mostly to sell it to other countries without the Rafale) but the French army has not shown any particular interest to use it with the Mirage 2000.

For the physical capacity of the 2000D RMV to fire this weapons, this can be debated, the 2000N (number 309 if my memory serves me correctly) is an aircraft that has been modified, however we do not know the nature of all the changes made and if they are necessary for the implementation of the AASM

The first chance to see an operational Mirage 2000 with AASM will probably be in the coming months, with a study underway to integrate it into the Mirage 2000-5F which will be delivered to Ukraine.

Very interesting!

Stuff like this makes me realise how much I still don’t know about aircraft, hahah.

I wonder if it will ever come, and if it does, whether it will be to the upcoming Rafale or a new variant!

Why does RMV still have 1 Mach limit?
Edit:still no Reduced-Smoke

Excpect the Mach limit to be reported internally (so we won’t see it). I believe Wareta has some sources for that.
As for reduce smokes, I guess not everything is done on the AASM so we’ll see when it hits live

Rafale limit is 1.4.RMV not

Yes I know.
As I said, we already know it. It’s going to be reported for the RMV. The Mach limit is pylon specific but we have info on the Mirage pylons. It’s probably going to be reported internally so we won’t see it on CBR

Has anyone reported that the RMV can carry 8 AASM? It is currently missing 2 on the rear centerline pylons.
