If it’s going to be introduced as a separate vehicle at 9.3, it def should have a researchable 30mm plate modification, from the same program that gave t-72A its 16mm plate. That way at least the UFP will be comparable to the 72 series.
Apart from that, a + from me. Personally, i love the look of T-64A with front-mounted smoke dischargers, and would be happy with either the existing model getting reworked to this version or having another T-64 to play with

eh with the already pretty strong turret armor giving it a decent ufp too might raise its br.
I actually would like your suggested vehicle to replace the 1971 variant in the game, as the 1971 is severly underperforming at 9.3 BR, but would be too powerful at 9.0. This one might be the answer to this issue of balance.

Tbh it’s fine at 9.3. it’s fast, light and has a powerful cannon. The only thing that bugs me are those side skirts making the tank look wider than it is.

That could be really helpful, especially with the extremely sloped UFP the effective thickness would more than double, plus the slope modifier on penetration further making it difficult to pen.
Would you happen to know which date it received the 30mm plate?
…And the fact that the T-72A/M1 is at the same BR with better features, such as HMG, LRF etc.
Why not slap a kontakt-1 era package on that then?

I have no prblem with that, but I feel like replacing the 1971 with the 1975 would be the more elegant solution of the two.

It would be better to replace the current T-64A mod.71 with mod.75 modification, and much better if a newer modification with laser rangefinder and 30mm UFP upgrade.
Sadly most players choose to ignore the poor T-64A in game.
Tbh, I like the 1971 as it is, it’s just those folding screens do not fold making the tank look wider.
Might suggest foldable screens modification on the t-64a soon

Were they just actual ceramic balls in the casting?
