Supermarine Spiteful F.XVI - Prop Heaven

If I may ask, what is the gross weight for the P-51H?

Sure, this site may contain the information you need:

With great pedigrees, Spiteful and Seafang are a must-have addition to Britain’s forces.

So for some reason I haven’t commented on how much I bloody want this thing.

A Giant, Humungous and maybe even Spiteful (US Superprops) +1 from me.

This would eliminate the draggy radiators and lower speed of later spitfires and it is the fastest prop aircraft ever.

This one isn’t a want, its an absolute NEED for the tree.

Already “passed to devs”.
It’s been 9 years, you’d think it’d be ingame by now.

Just like the stugIV being part of the original German ground tree plan

Any idea what the 300lb rockets it has are?

XP-47J 812 kph?

Literally a year ago but regardless, but I did fail to include the fact that I meant fastest production military prop aircraft (though given the topic that’s completely implicit), the XP-47J did beat it but that was with no armament, nearly minimum fuel and it experienced airframe strain as a result.

So yes you’re right the US plane wins in terms of flat out speed, Spiteful wins on having any sort of combat value whilst coming second.

Britain should be getting these instead of Russian slop fed VIA India

As far as i know, they are the 139,4kg “Triplex R.P. rockets” that are on the Spitfire mk.24

I would like to think that had Napier and Hawker finished this: Hawker Fury I, we would have had a much faster prop, but then jets came…

IIRC it was finished no, perhaps they would have developed it further?

It was also very fast and the first UK aircraft mounted piston engine to exceed 3,000 hp. Mostly didn’t happen because the UK was good at building planes light where it counted but still very impressive.

Quite possibly.

They could even go full on and slightly modify the model to add the Seafang at the same time.
