“I want to understand the enemy”

R37M can only be carried by the Su-35/Su-30SM2 so the Su-30SM won’t receive them due to requirement of more power delivered by the AL-41s
It cannot be added due to WAYYY to high BR
Al-41 on su-30sm2 still on test, not serial.
Su-30SM2 with updated bars and al-31fp can use r-37m
Is the Su-30SM really worse than the Su-27SM? Why go for SM when they could hop straight to a better SM2 to remain competitve.
what nonesense are you even saying?
the su30sm has a better radar, 2 more missile pylons and thrust vectoring
how can you call it worse?
Was curious, i saw some saying its not much better than the Su-27SM. Yes, sure it has thrust vectoring, canards, and 2 extra pylons. Though many of those things add weight and the benefits of them may not be represented well in actual gameplay.
How will they do thrust vectoring. Canards are already on Su-33 and Su-34.
the su30 will be lighter than the su33 and su34
it is going to be 1 ton heavier than the su27sm which isnt that much when you consider they can carry almost 10 tons of fuel.
the N011 Bars PESA is also going to be a huge improvment compared to the su27, which is gimbaled
how badly will Gaijin bork the radar?
Stay tuned to find out!
yeah but the difference is that the su30sm is lighter than the su33 and su34
su30sm empty weight: 17,700kg
su33: 18,400kg
su34: 22,500kg
so canards+tvc will make the su30sm do some crazy things, it will still lose a lot of speed… since it is heavier than the su27sm (16,300kg vs 17,700kg) and if we got the AL-31FP engines on the su30sm1 and not the AL-41F-1S from sm2, it will have less thrust than the su27sm with the AL-31FM1
Irl Su-30SM 19400
Su-33 19600…
that’s not what I found on google, what’s your source for that weight? even here in this thread of the su30sm it says:
In DEV server right now the EmptyMass is 18400.
So they modeled it pretty heavy
well, rip then, maybe i was wrong idk
They should really replace the current SM with the SM2, heck nerf it by giving it worse R-77s just to make up for it. I really want the better engines
Not to mention that canards are also slightly detrimental to post-stall behavior with TVC… Wish they went the Su-37 route to at least test it out at a lower BR.
The engines are no problem at all, and the jump from Su-27SM to Su-30SM is already egregious enough.
The only true jump was the better radar, It’s still heavy as heck and has engines inferior to the ones found on the Su-33.
I want it to actually compete against F-15Es that can space climb in a blink (exaggeration btw)
Edit: looking at the datamine, it has worse engines than Su-33 while only being 570kg lighter
@WreckingAres283 Hey, sorry for the ping, do you know if there currently are any open reports about the Su-30 empty weight? I’ve seen some sources stating it is lower than it currently is and others saying it’s correct/slightly higher.
