Is this getting Kh-38’s for balance reasons? I was fairly certain Russia never exported them.

Missiles not being available due to a nation not buying them is not a factor as already confirmed multiple times. As long as the aircraft is capable of using them (like in this case, being a Su-30 and therefore still possibly having the capability) it can have them

This is seen on things like the Swiss Hornets, Swedish Gripen C’s, etc. They are still capable of carrying them, and the nation not having said weapon is no longer a factor.

still not because all of Su-30MKM was delivered (2007-2009) before Kh-38 went into testing (2010) and later production (2015)

Well is there proof of the Kh-38 having some sort of specific component on said Su-30’s that is needed for it? And that this does not have it? If so, it can be bug reported.

So far I’ve only seen people comment about it but post no proof about this specifically not gonna lie

It’s never been advertised for use on su-30mki variants, only the base su-30mk. Tho atp idrc, I’ve long realized gaijin standards changes every single time another vehicle drops

I meant it should UV type maws not optic, unless optic means UV?

Just remembered about this image

Mentions that the Su-30MK’s can have KH-38. This isn’t far off.

Yeah that’s why I said b4 that it’s only meant for mk, not mki variants. And no su30sm brochure shows kh38 as options while plenty of su35 brochures do. IMO it’s no use taking up to gaijin, they do as they please so it’s whatever atp

@MythicPi do you know if optic maws is the same as UV maws?

plus just because one has hardware (shares the same pylon as Kh-29) doesn’t mean it’s plug and play too, I doubt it able to use it

I’ve never heard of optical MAWS, 3 types I know of are radar, IR, and UV.

That’s what I thought as well… but are different kinds of ir maws modelled in game? Is it worth reporting?

If it would be a different jet, with differen loadout it would be completely ok, but untill it’s copy+past+add wester features, it doesn’t really look fair.

Here’s export brochure for su-30mki type fighters

Max speed looks like it should go down to 1350 kph on deck, rn it can go around 1500 kph on the deck
