Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

The dimensions of the Su-35 are entirely different. The space between engines, size of the airframe, the wings, etc it is all larger than the Su-27 slightly. They are totally incompatible and share few parts.

Does su27sm3 share the same air frame as the earlier 27s? Ik it has extra pylons on the wings, but but other than that, im not sure the differences in the air frame.

It is modified, it is not an entirely new and incompatible airframe as some parts may be reused unlike the Su-35.

Yes, I did not say they were the exact same on the outside, but similar.
Which is why you cannot bring Su-27 to Su-35 standard.

For all intents and purposes it would be like trying to upgrade a legacy F-18 to Super Hornet standard. It isn’t possible, they are not the same plane.

Yeah, Super Hornet is much larger than the original Hornet, not to mention aerodynamic differences.

When did flanker start using composites like its siblings in the j11 series of planes.

The dimensions of the Su-35 and CM3 are the same length 21.9 m wingspan 14.7m

From the screenshot you won’t be able to identify the person so no point

Hello guys, I am thinking about purchasing and tallying the Su-33.

Can I please hear some thoughts or feedback on this

If you think the fun it will net will be worth the money, go for it. No one can make decisions for you. It’s just a heavier Su-27 with better AoA and slightly worse energy retention afaik.

It doesn’t fly completely horribly now at least, after the FM change.

No worries! Just wanna hear thoughts, I won’t be playing in 3 months so I just wanted to hear more in depth info regarding it but I think i’ll get it.

I enjoy Su-27S and J-11 so don’t see how I wouldn’t enjoy this!

At 13.0 it has pretty decent kit but as with the other 13.0 Flankers, uptiers are a pain.

You’re not completely helpless, R-27ER still outperforms AIM-120A in terms of range and overall kinematics, and SRH missiles are generally harder to notch in War Thunder compared to ARH.

Radar is definitely the biggest downside.

R-27ET is also an underrated missile, I’ve got a ton of kills on people who think they are Fox 3s and drop only chaff + notch.

Flight-performance wise it’s a bit slower to accelerate and climb.
The first few turns it pulls harder than the Su-27S, which may help you to get more R-73 shot opportunities. But it retains energy much worse.

Unlike the other 13.0 Flankers, Su-33 actually gets decent RWR.

R-27ER is absolutely insane still and as a sim player I am rly just interested in flying aircraft I am personally interested in and that incl Su-33.

Think I might buy it!

I’d say it’s worth if you don’t have the soviet tree and just want to jump into top tier or if ur a flanker enthusiast and want to collect every variant, the overall performance in RB will be pretty much the same as the regular su-27 with some advantages and disadvantages (half CMs and worse energy retention than the su-27 but 2 more missiles and better rwr).

The su-33 got a lot of hate initially cuz we were expecting a modern variant to compete with the new fighters, but it’s a decent plane.

highly recommend you give it some extensive test flights - overall its a complete side grade. However, if in your average gameplay the extra AoA and vastly upgraded degree of controllability around stall territory is going to actually come into the equation frequently for you then it can be an upgrade - just need to test fly it to decide that for yourself. Also, you are not going to experiencing barely any of the extra controllability the canards can offer outside of manual(full real) controls - so keep that in mind. Ofc in general buying anything that is not a premium jet or premium time is not at all an effective use of GE, but only you can know how much your time and/or sanity is worth so GE’ing stuff outside of those can absolutely be worth it in that regard.
