I am not a pilot nor do I do the test anywhere close to correctly, and on top of that 7000 meters is high-drag for mach 1.4 which means it’ll be slower acceleration than 10,000 meters.
I can do my specific test consistently, but I can’t copy their test methodology perfectly at this time.
I highly doubt Typhoon’s producing over 35,000lbf AB per engine at sea level, and ~17600lbf per engine on dry thrust sea level
I am rather certain it’s just very good design decisions that improve its air efficiency.
It is indeed 20,000lbf per engine of Typhoon… we just don’t know at what speed.
It’s akin to the F4x4 series of engines, efficient, small, and potent for the size, affordable too.
That wasnt the discussion though the F-15E with 229 engines can supercruise in a clean configuration.
The EFT is a great aircraft, we (suffering Euro players) are looking forward to a comparable aircraft. Gripen being the closest can only carry 4 Aim120/R Darters the Typhoon and Rafale can carry from 6 ARHM
J-10, J-11B and Su-30 will also be great as will the Gripen E
Yeah and in return both planes will be better than EFT in close quarter engagements.
Everyone had different design philosophy when they designed their aircrafts, not to mention it took 40 years for Europe to catch what F15 achieved, for multipurpose F15 series are still unmatched and will always be better choice in that regard.
Oh but it will, like how Gen3’s are seeing Gen4’s right now.
lol lmao even.
Gen 5 is not as powerful as you think.
The primary difference for WT is AESA radar.
Stealth isn’t an aspect of gen 5, but is on many of the gen-5 aircraft as well.
So Su-57 goes back to not counting as gen 5.
It doesn’t impact my point though.
When all the offensive weapons are the same, the defensive capabilities of stealth, especially for air RB, are deeply reduced.
Stealth’s best aspect will be air sim; it’ll be like prop BRs again where you have to visually find things, and terrain heavy maps like Afghan will get even more popular.
Pyrenees needs a sim version at some point.
The gap is smaller technologically. Gen 4 vs Gen 5 is a different world.
From sensor suites, counter measures and the inability of Radar to detect and calculate a firing solution.
The only way to balance Gen 5 vs Gen 4 is to limit the quality of missile Gen 5 get.
Give the Meteor, Aim120D to Gen 4 and only allow 120C for Gen 5
They will never do it but that would be a balancing mechanic.
Gen 4 vs Gen 5 looks like this. take off, fly high no returns on your Radar, faint returns. TWS is next to useless.
Try and lock Gen 5 cant lock on Radar wont track…Your RWR starts screaming and you die.
If you manage to get a missile off the missile goes active and fails to acquire the Gen 5 airframe due to its tiny RCS and Smart countermeasures.
1- Sensor suites will serve no purpose for air arcade and realistic, as well as be available on many gen 4s. And datalink might never show up for sim outside of squads or AWACS.
2- There really is little difference in this front outside stealth.
3- This statement I just don’t get.
The difference between gen 4 and gen 5 is smaller offensively than the difference between gen 3 and gen 4.
Obviously I’m going to say F-22 should be a higher BR than Typhoon, F-15, F-2, etc. After all it’s stealth with an AESA radar; it’s just using the same AIM-120s and AIM-9s as the others, defeated very similarly.
Also, it’s “Your RWR starts screaming and you defeat the AMRAAM like you have countless times before.” then close the distance and frag them with an IR missile.
