How is FM better? Same engine thrust, higher weight, canards will only help in first turn.
Also in my limited understanding of ground related stuff, isn’t the kh-38 much better than the Kh-29? Why would you fly the su-30 instead of the Su-34 for cas?

The reason why people want something like the Su-30SM is it has a PESA radar, HMS/HMD more powerful engines that are thrust vectoring, lighter then the Su34! It 100% out preforms the Flankers we have atm in every way.
This is what RU honestly should get to go up against the Euro Fighter and Rafale…they will need it :/

IMHO, the “balance” in your mouth has a bit of a dark humor in front of Panstir-S and the six KH38MTs.
We are not going to get the Su-30SM any time soon lol, it’s a plane from 2011.
Su-27M and MiG-29M both significantly outperform current flankers and fulcrums without being extremely recent and without adding stuff like TVC that would be a pain to mode right.
Also since the Su-30sm is so modern it would be implemented with straight up fantasy FM and avionics

The Kh-38 is currently too much of a redundant missile because it can easily destroy all targets from afar, and the Kh-29 fits better into the balance because you won’t be able to destroy targets from such long distances
Dude, the Kh-38s are way too redundant missiles, and 90% of AA players can’t destroy missiles.
I would prefer to get an excellent FM for a flanker instead of a Su-34 with a Kh-38

I’m totally behind you when it comes to getting better FM for the flankers, because I play both the USSR and China :) As for the KH38MT, I think the KH29TD will be more balanced than him.

Dude, that’s what I was going to say. The Kh-38 is too strong against NATO SAMs, so the Kh-29 would be more balanced against them.

To be honest, I would prefer to replace the J-30B with the Su-10MKK, because the gaijin does not seem to be making China’s own air-to-surface missiles so quickly, and the weapons of the Su-30MKK are ready-made, I really want a qualified CAS :(
You mean like the fantasy flight model the Flankers have right now that I think people have made bugs reports on???
Also isn’t the Su-27M the test demonstrator for the Su-35! The 27M would have Thrust Vectoring!

That’s from the War Thunder Wiki on the 29SMT…date has NOTHING to do with when an aircraft gets implemented in the game…if it did we would have been fighting Euro Fighters already!

Su-27M has canards and no TVC, named Su-35 for export. New Su-35S has TVC, but no canards. Makes some confusion

Guys ya’ll need to stop with the wishful thinking that new versions of the flanker will be better in terms of maneuverability, as long as they don’t fix the core issues of the original SU-27 flight model they will all suck and will only get worse. Guess what happens with the su-27 if you add more weight and canards with minor/none improvements on its engine considering that it got one of the worst designed FMs? That’s what the su-33 and su-30 are, i’d be less outraged by the addition of the su-30 than i’d be with the 33 because some variants have radar improvements and it can carry fox3s, but it would be a boat worse than the su-27 for dogfights.

Su-27FM has issues but it’s not complete fantasy lol, it still somewhat follows sustained turn and acceleration charts.
J-10 and Gripen are much more inaccurate FMs and they would still be less fantasy than what the Su-30sm would be (unless gaijin somehow has evidence from a 2011 plane that is still in full service and production).

What bothers me about the su-27 is the speed that it can reach without the afterburner, it almost supercruises lol
