In current conditions i doubt it. If gaijin didn’t stick dual pylons on every Russian Flanker because release version was absolutely horrendous and they tried to fix it with random bullshit we could have a smooth progression from Su-27SM (2004) with 6 R-77s and AL-31Fs at 13.7 into Su-27SM3 with 8 R-77-1s and AL-31F M1s at 14.0, but right now i don’t see any reason in adding Su-27SM3. With double pylons it will get 10 R-77-1s which is way too powerful for 14.0 and at 14.3 we already have a much better pick
From the quick speculation - R-77-1 integration, upgrades to N011M radars (either to the SM standard with more DL channels and probably some reliability upgrades or even to SM2 standards with more range, improved detection of hypersonic and low speed targets), potential RVV-BD integration, replacement of western avionics with Russian ones, integration of modern A2G munitions like Grom or FABs with UMPK

Afaik it was for the proposed Su-30MK3.
I didn’t know the dish had been built, let along put on an airframe.
I found another caption for the image with a bit more detail.
“The N001VEP+Pero phased-array radar (PESA) on Su-30 No. 597. In 2003, NIIP proposed a new lightweight, space-fed reflectarray antenna intended to replace the N001 radar antenna without requiring a completely new radar design. The radar was also proposed for the Su-30MK3.”

Does anyone know why the MKK derivatives can’t use A2A missiles on the innermost wing pylon but can use air to ground?
