with a nickname such as yours, I’m certain anything you say about mig-23s becomes truth

Why do Gaijin’s 3D models always look so cut up and dented. Compared to real life the Su-30 in game looks like someone hosted a dance party on it after 2 years of service and maintainance crews were abusive.

Is that the unlockable camo or a custom one?

gaijin just hates clean air-frames smh

Ill experiment later with the alpha textures to see if i cant fix it.

the dirt and stuff is also really bad on the EF for some reason

even in an active warzone an airframe wouldnt get this dirty

A custom camo I downloaded from WT live :D

They really need to add weathering slider for planes (or just jets. Early jets and props are, surprisingly, clean… or in much better condition)

As we move forward we are gonna have more and more ESA radars which usually include such combined modes.

You are quite good with implementing these complex stuff (For example the “quick centering” button which was added with the recent radar pitch stabilization changes was a nice touch and good QoL improvement), but just as a crude idea on how you could implement this:

1- You could allow the user to select which ground or air target the targeting pod / weapon optics is slaved to, using the “Switch mission bombing target” or the “Select Radar/IRST target to lock” (only when the Targets cyclic switching of aircraft radar option is disabled) keybinds, or with a new dedicated keybind “Cycle point of interest source”.

2- When the player locks a ground target in ground mode, initiate a hard lock, but do not stop searching and continue searching for ground targets while maintaining the hard lock to the selected target.

3- The user then can either remain in ground mode and select a second ground target to hard lock, or switch to air to air search modes and search for air targets.

4- If the user locks a second ground target in ground mode, initiate the second hard lock to the second ground target, while maintaining the first one, and also continuing to search for ground targets.

5- If the user tries to lock a third ground target, drop the first ground target which was locked (the oldest target) and lock the new target while maintaining the lock on the second target which was locked (most recent) and also keep searching for ground targets.

6- The user can switch to air to air search modes (while maintaining the hard lock on one or two ground targets).

7- After switching to air to air mode, he can engage one target with R-77 in TWS mode, or hard lock one air to air target to engage with R-27 (while maintaining the hard lock on the one or two ground targets). Hard locking the air target will stop the air to air search.

8- Selecting a locked target and pressing the “Lock Radar/IRST on target” button will unlock it.

9- Turning the radar off and on again will unlock all targets.

Thank you

Посадка Су-34 без шасси.

Everything is fine now.

hey David, can you take a look at this modeling error :D

Everything is fine now. * 2

thanks <3

Got any sources regarding the normal scan angles for the NO11M Bars? The vertical scan area is suprisingly bad in-game, maxing out at 7 deg iirc, which was really surprising to me considering the V004 from the Su-34 gets 20 deg vertical and the Rafales RBE2-AA gets 31.5 deg vertical atm in-game.

Bug report:

Su-30SM N011M Bars radar scan pattern too small:

(Thanks to whomever is was that forwarded many of the previous reports in one go; Unfortunately the site no longer shows the name of the tech mods)

For comparison:

Zaslon (From the same manufacturer) has a 90x20= 1800 square degrees scanning area:

So a 5500 square degrees scanning area for the much more modern Bars radar (from the same manufacturer) makes sense …

Id be a pretty substantial buff, would make it the largest scan area in-game atm for an air based radar, dethroning the Rafales 140x31.5 deg (4410deg^2)
