Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

Tbh, I’m not even sure what setup they had in mind. Everything that works or might work would add up to only 18 amraam (if centerline can be used to carry the double racks)

Iirc, they said 22 amraam but then stopped saying it or something like that

The US if they wanted to likely could though the pylons are in a place the missiles would drop free on the correct 120 dual mounts.

I wouldnt be so sure the F-15EX couldnt use all of those 120s

I don’t think this is exclusive to the US

The US historically dont mount weapon systems on an aircraft purely for carriage.
Those pylons and the structural integrity of the airframe I would bet could be wired in or will be wired in.
They will also carry AIM260s

We do mount them for carriage though, sometimes

Air Force uses upper CFT on F-15 to ferry around JDAM, and there are the quad amraam racks that don’t actually work and just let them carry a lot

4 amraams on the outermost wing pylons, 6-8 on wing pylons, 8 on CFT. 18-20 missiles and maybe centerline pylon

If they all integrate of course (which is unlikely to be a problem for the game, Su-30 and Su-27SM moment)

Might not be with the pods

KnAAPO’s website

Where are you getting 6-8 on inner wing from?

If it intefrated ofc

These aren’t the quad racks that can’t actually fire right?

You already post the brochure.

I have see multiple interaction of these number going around. Someone even specified that the number are with Khibiny pods.

Its funny you say this, because in sim the Su-30 gets conpletely destroyed by the hornet. 12 missiles mean nothing as long as multi-pathing remains as it is. At which point the Su-30 is heavy that anything beats it in a merge. Thrust vectoring only works with altitude, but if you climb youre dead, cus youre no longer multi-pathing.

In short, your only benefit in the Su-30 is actually your biggest weaknesses.

Sim is a very different game mode and one I dont have experience in. That does surprise me though with Su-30 having a much better Radar/similar performance and similar missiles.

Seems like this is the IRST manufacturer:

Seems like it has ±90 deg in azimuth:

You can see everything. But the moment you turn that radar on, you kick the hornets nest. Literally. F-18’s will immediately start rushing you at low altitude and all 12 of your R-77’s are useless in this situation. Best option is to risk merge and get a lucky R-73. If it gets flared, youre dead.

Can you not search using the IRST system and then switch to Radar once you find them?

Its funny if this was DCS the Flanker would be down low and the Hornets up high

the current irst of the su-30 is performing alot worse than the su-27 one,
this is becuase gaijin copy pasted the irst code from the su-27 before the did some changes/ fixes to the irst and never changed it for the su-30

and now we cant really bug report it because it is a copy paste mistake and gaijin dosent accept datamine reports

Yes

I’m just saying there are conflicting information from different sources.

Brochure says 25300 @ 15.3m but the KnAAPO website says 25300 @ 14.7m

It’s possible that the brochure is specifying the max possible wingspan rather than the 25300 figure being at the said wingspan (I.e. with the jamming pods).

If you check the other links that I’ve posted, the UAC website also lists 25300 kg @ 14.7m

And for example in the Su-32 brochure, they specifically list the jamming pods along the missiles when they want to list the maximum speed:
