true. i wish Soviet 80-90s being kinda common to Mirage, excellent in defending capabilities while some Western jets, US specifically, would focus on some kind of hit&run. speaking of now, i honestly think the only thing Su lacks is good radar. 73s somehow were really fixed from spinning out in many cases, speed bleed became less of an issue, and now it’s good mid-close range fighter with it’s unique gameplay (though 12 missiles, along >12 people teams is a bit overkill)
well, at least good turn on supersonic speeds helps in defence
Good radar will come soon for the Flanker.
SU-30SM was leaked and that uses Bars radar instead of Mech.

i mean current SUS family except 34)) but anyways i can adapt to current one, because it’s sufficient for lighting up targets and all Flanker’s missiles are usually launched at HMD range
Yeah, I don’t really use any other radar mode other than HMS PD.
Flanker family have a nice future in war thunder, but i want to see the fulcrum back. It has been a long time since the last variant.

I just hope that the Fulcrum gets its wartime thrust setting. MiG-21 and MiG-23 have it currently iirc.

It depends on the variant tbh, mig29 got his bad reputation from monkey models in Iraq and poor maintained ones in Serbia being swarmed by the usaf modernized fighters

I fear it’s going to take a long time for them to improve the fulcrum. I consider this sad cuz it’s my absolute favorite plane but well, it is what it is…

Same but that’s not going to happen tbh, they feel the plane is ok at its current spot. We need to wait for the K, S, SM, M etc

It pretty much is, since F16 with superior radar and RWR, but 7M and 9L sits at same BR, Mig29 in contrast has R27ER and HMD. Although I would take R27ERs over R73s, cause they get me kills and killed more frequently than R73, even with HMD it is still, IR with moderate IRCCM capabilities especially against uptiers, not really going to make a difference.

Well i won’t disagree with you, it really is balanced, the thing is that imo a mig29 without archers is like a house without a door and the SMT is too heavy to be enjoyable… I’m waiting for a new variant.

I still hate the Mech enough to tell my friend to grind for that instead of Su27SM, although Su34 is probably the best choice in my opinion.
