You can already try out the su27sm and see how much better it is than the su30 in terms of climbing, acceleration, time to speed, etc. su30 is just so dman heavy
Sure, but BVR perf is limtied by its avionics
i know its a heavy brick but the radar on the su27sm is so 13.0
it works ok at visual ranges good even if you havent enjoyed xESA (its like moving to OLED or a mechanical keyboard you dont want to go back ).
but bvr its terrible and don’t even get me started on the tws of the su27sm
TWS on the su27sm is more than enough for BVR >20km. And within 20km, you can just use your hms.
for starters its missing a flight path calculator (plane is moving but the tws just list the last known location until the radar is searching the airplane location again )
that is if its sees the plane at all which is also very luck based behind 20km
it would have the 2 extra wing pylons

R-77-1 is theoretically better than 120, except it’s bond to Su-30sm for now, and carrying base is trash and doesn’t really press anyone until enemy is bunch of typical Typoo/Ravioli fans which can’t notch. Having 120 in F-16C for example I can both do sniping shots at the beginning going mach 1.4-1.5 or slam enemy in some close range fights thanks to maneuverability which allows me to compensate aim-120’s turn.

(IDK, maybe they are better these days after recent bug fixes … Haven’t flown them in a while …)
It was 5 games before I realised that the SU30 has all the unguided bombs and rockets unlocked immediately from stock…
No other 14.0 has this except maybe the F18?
Every other top tier has to unlock dumb bombs/rockets
F-15E gets 12x 500lb unlocked stock, Rafale doesn’t for some reason (6x 250kg), and EFT gets big dumb bombs that’s not stock. But F-18C gets 2000lb stock

It’s still kinda bad compared to other planes but it’s not impossible to use, although i’d prefer the heavy su-30sm over a hypothetical su-27sm3 with r-77-1
US players turning themselves into free kills for stock Eurofighter and Rafale. I see no issue hehe.
Something to potentially improve the stock grind of the SU30SM.
Because the stock R77-1’s are equipped on Pylons 2 and 11, this means there is little to no point in having the R73 modification because you will always take the R77-1’s until you unlock the additional R77-1’s, by which point you will most likely never equip R73’s on these pylons again.
Proposal: Move the Stock R77-1’s to any 2 of 4 the fuselage pylons to allow stock players to equip additional R73 missiles after they unlock the R73 modification.

The Eurofighter had the same issue in the beginning. Odd they still don’t pay attention to it on new aircraft
it used to be fuselage, idk why they changed it. Also you can use R-73s on the ET pylon (Middle wing)
