SU24M missile types

Why doesn’t the SU24M get R-73’s in real life it did is there a reason why we don’t have it?

Cause that would make it BR 12.7+.
It’s fine with what it has currently for its BR.
I don’t want a 12.7 CAS.

ok? The SU25BM is 11.3 and it has r-73s so giving the SU24M r-73s at 11.3 ig make it go to 11.7 but in history, it should have them.

Really? The Su-25BM has 4 R-73s and can go mach 1.7?
Since when?
R-73s on a supersonic chassis has a minimum [incorrect] BR of 13.0, not 11.3.
Tie in the fact Su-27 can bring 2 bases of bombs with the 4x R-73s and it’s obviously BR 12.7 minimum.
Su-24M is already slightly better than Mig-27K as it stands.

If you’ve flown it in dev, you realize no amount of R73 would make that a 12.7 plane.

Lacking HMD, thermals and having the maneuverability of a brick rolling down a hill, 11.7 max GB rating if it had R73s.

Because it would cause a BR bump, but it also has an IRCM and a few other systems that already would make it worthy of a higher BR, oh yeah, and as always

The Dev server is subject to change

Does it have IRCM? Thought it was just MAWs?

I did some research, and I found out that the upgraded Su24, called Su24M2, which gets ith Surviving Su-24M models, has gone through a life-extension and updating program, with a Glonass upgraded cockpit with a Multi-function display, digital moving-map generator, special helmet-mounted sight, and provision for the latest guided weapons, including in the R-73 in 1984. With all of that, I still think that even if we got an SU24M2, it should be BR 12 to 12.3 because it is a bomber. Also [However, it does not specifically mention an Integrated Countermeasure Receiver Module (ICRM) in its standard configuration]

Maybe I can’t read but I can’t see IRCM?

Nope, but that’s also a D-Fencer, sooo…

Also, it has three separate RWR systems, an IFF system, and an IRA system.

I have. It flies better than a Mig-27 while having a better bomb load.
HMD doesn’t make a jet 12.7.
Thermals doesn’t matter for air RB.
It’d be 12.3+ in GRB with R-73s, it’s not an Su-25T.

And @Starfish69 's post is better.
When we get Su-24M2 later, that can have R-73s.

Unfortunately in game it appears the ground radars are not implemented, not that they are particularly useful.

Thank you, @AlvisWisla. I hope this supports your post about the Su-24M2, an upgraded version of the Su-24M known to incorporate more advanced electronic countermeasure systems, including features like the Integrated Countermeasure Receiver Module (ICRM). Introduced in the late 1990s, the Su-24M2 represents a significant modernization of the Su-24M, featuring improved avionics, enhanced radar, electronic warfare systems, and upgraded weaponry. Even the SU-24M2 with R-73s, the BR should be 12.0 to 11.7 due to how heavy the plane is.

While I disagree with the BR, I am always more supportive of more advanced versions of aircraft getting the peak weaponry of the airframe.

What would you, Think of the BR should be if WarThunder got the SU-24M2

~12.7, especially once 13.0s ever get decompressed to 13.3.
While a brick [looks at Tornado F3 Late], it’s still fast and in the case of M2 it will still have the 2 base loadout of Su-24M along with the R-73s.
And bombers with self-defense weapons have to be balanced for both their base fragging ability AND defense capability considered.

This is the Su-24M and not M2

Yes, as I said.

Been so long and people still think this broken trash missile will be a game changer that will somehow make a brick plane insane
