I’ll go look, I forget which topic, but there should be some denied bug reports as well. If I find it I’ll edit it back into this post
Giv R-77 and put at 13.0
The plane is not meant to be a dog fighter, the air to air it has is for defense. you can shoot at ground targets and dont have to considerate on bases, or air to air kills. The su-39 is good with its rear IRC that helps reduce IR missiles from shooting you. The plane is also good in sim battles as that is not as chaotic as air RB. Try giving that a shot, im sure you will be more than happy with the performance in sim.
I totally agree, we already have R-27s on the MiG-21 Bison which also shares the same radar as the SU-39 currently in-game as well. The R-77s however shouldn’t be added since it would be an excuse for Gaijin to move this vehicle up to some ridiculous BR, just the R-27s should be fine.

The SU-39 was advertised as a multirole aircraft capable of engaging fighters but the same can’t be said for other SU-25 variants.
The entire point of equipping it with the Kopyo-25 was for ground/ship tracking and aerial engagements
I posted a bug report a bit ago which got acknowledged, it consisted of the loadout of the SU-39, here is the full loadout it is capable of carrying.
Cleary states it has the ability to use the R-77 and R-27
A little clarification for people who don’t speak Russian.
You can put r60 or r60m on pylons 1 and 11
R73 goes to pylons 2 and 10, same with R-27T and R-77(marked here as PBB-AE)
The Kopyo-25 is basically just a slightly longer range version of the Kopyo-21 made specifically for the SU-39, the Kopyo-21 can already be found in-game on the MiG-21 Bison which can use it to guide the R-27 (in-game also).
Aka it 110% capable of aerial engagements and aerial tracking like you said
The Su-39 was a further development of the specialized “anti-tank” variant of the Su-25T attack aircraft. The Su-39’s anti-tank mission was supposed to be important, but not as dominant as that of the Su-25T. It was assumed that the aircraft would be able to effectively destroy ships in coastal areas and enemy transport and front-line aviation
the su-39 is subsonic and would suffer in any air to air mission, it was designed to be a CAS plane. Much like the A-10, it had some air defense capabilities but its primary roll was to hit ground targets. Helicopters are far slower than nimble fighter jets. Ships would be the same as ground targets.
From what i can gather, the pod may have had the capability but that capability was never used with the su-39 or 25.
Mate the Kopyo-25 was literally fitted on the SU-39, it even received a upgraded FCS for compatibility with the R-27 and R-77. A huge amount of primary and secondary sources backing this is available on the original SU-39 thread if you want to have a look.
I got multiple secondary sources which clearly state this, I can post them here if you really doubt what we say
The original SU-25 was made for ground attack sure but the SU-39 was upgraded for the ability to engage all types of vehicles making it multirole, it may be subsonic but its a multirole nonetheless.
The Kopyo-25 is a variant of a radar, they made a entire system specifically for the SU-39, if it wasn’t compatible then it would be incapable of firing the R-27 and R-77 which it can clearly can do.
If you make this thread for the Su-39 because of a “misplaced” br - i would highly suggest you start playing other nations then Russia and China (and the starting lineups for Israel).
I cannot wait for 300 more posts of you regarding the misplaced br’s of minor nation vehicles.
This was done for the phantoms years ago on the old forums,
Get back to reality.
We have 2S38 with unknown real capabilities but it has most likely more than should
Su-27SM with KAB-1500 which I’ve never seen on any photo of Su-27SM, what i was able to find is that KAB-1500 can be installed onto Su-27SKM, which is different from Su-27SM by a lot.
But that’s not a thing if we talk about , let’s say, F-4 Phantom. Specifically E and C are my concern:
AN/ASQ-153 Pave Spike, AN/AVQ-26 Pave Tack and at least GBU-12 were fit onto said F-4’s. The Pave Spike was used between 1974 and 1989 on the F-4C and F-4E Phantom fleet with the pod fitting into the left forward missile well – replacing an AIM-7 in the spot when fitted.
Why don’t we have it in game? Huh? Someone is scared that F-4 would become a good CAS plane at it’s BR? Or what can be a possible reason for not giving said planes a deserved weaponry?
We do though; the Kurnass 2000 has access to The Pave Spike (and AN/ASX-1 TISEO), just not the F-4E.
Here are pictures for proving my point. One of the planes even has SM-1 or SM-2 (I can’t tell them apart), why can’t we get it in game?
Thank you for clarification. But the question of laser-guided bombs is still open.
Reddit user “doxlulzem” has already figured out what F-4E can get in game, so I’ll directly quote him(and also picture for guys who don’t want to read)
The full list of stuff that is not currently in the game on the F-4E as of 2.13.0.53:
- M118 - 3000lb free-fall demolition bomb, as seen on the F3H-2 and F-105D. It can carry 1x centreline (Station 5 for all you nerds).
- AN/AVQ-23 Pave Spike - Day-only targeting pod. Carries 1x inside the Sparrow missile bay, specifically the fore rightmost one (Missile Station 4).
- AN/AVQ-26 Pave Tack - FLIR TGP. Carries 1x centreline (Station 5).
- GBU-12 Paveway II - 500lb Paveway laser-guided bomb based on Mk.82. Carries up to 4x on each wing pylon (Stations 1, 2, 8 and 9).
- GBU-16 Paveway II - 1000lb Paveway LGB based on Mk.83. Carries up to 4x on each wing pylon (Stations 1, 2, 8 and 9).
- GBU-10 Paveway II - 2000lb Paveway LGB based on Mk.84. Carries up to 4x on each wing pylon (Stations 1, 2, 8 and 9).
- GBU-11 Paveway II - 3000lb Paveway LGB based on M118. Carries up to 2x on the inner wing pylons (Stations 2 and 8).
- AGM-45A Shrike - Early anti radiation missile. Despite being the form factor of a Sparrow, the F-4E carries them on the wing pylons (Stations 1, 2, 8 and 9). It can also take AGM-45Bs, but I decided to give it just the As. Not really asking for these, as they have to be programmed on the ground for the specific radar band they are to be targeting, making them less than useful for SEAD in a Ground RB context as you may spawn with them set for a Tunguska and only face a FlaRakRad. In Air RB they would be cool if we had proper SA-2 SAM sites in Air RB or EC, but we don’t, so they’re no more useful than a Maverick or Paveway for practical uses.
