I don’t think you understand how much range the r77m could have in theory if we look at its design. It could very well match the r37m in range
This is a bit like saying the R-77-1 could have similar range to R-27ER.
The dimensions of the R-37M is that of a very big missile with a lot of propulsion, the R-77M’s range is limited compared to the R-37M because of its dimensions.
R-37m trades range for speed, pl15 which is the closest comparator to the r77m has 300km of range if we go by china’s claims, r77m I’d much newer and slightly longer

Then what exactly do you mean it trades range for speed, isn’t it a Mach 6 missile with 300km+ range? How is R-77M better in any aspect when it comes to either speed or range?

The hypersonic speed doesn’t come free, it comes with a lot of drag.

Anyone know if the SU-30sm2 gets the same fast air spawn as the other su30 or if it gets the slower air spawn of the other fast jets
I find it funny that they gave this AL-41s, but still handicap the J-10C with an AL-31 instead of a WS-10B. I think the SM2 is too much to add at this moment, especially with the upgraded engines.
This and the Rafale don’t deserve to be facing 13.7s, because even the best 13.7s are still so much worse than those two.

The weight of the R-37M will prevent it from having too much drag as the inertia will carry it. heavier missiles tend to bleed speed slower, but they also tend to accelerate slower. On the flip side, lighter missiles tend to accelerate faster but they bleed speed much faster because they can’t keep this speed. This is already modeled in-game and can be compared.
The R-37M already by virtue has the benefit of being able to keep its speed better, but now it will have the Mach 6 topspeed, outstripping missiles that are much lighter than it.

Except it does for like the first 100 km it travels 😂 Drag doesn’t start to affect it until it starts to dive into denser air. By that point it’s already pitbull on a target with seconds to react. I think you underestimate or don’t understand the sheer energy required to travel 300+ km.

I doubt the BR will stay the same for long. There is Rank 9 coming and with it I hope more BR decompression.

There’s no difference iirc. Everyone has that setting if they want it. (Check air battle settings. You’ll find something like “air spawn if available” or something)
