According to pre-war plans.“…Completion of tests of the Su-30SM2 of the next stage of modernization, equipped with AL-41F-1C engines (“Product 117C”), is expected only by the end of 2023…”
As of 20025_ new deliveries and modernization of old ones are expected from 2025…
So for now, everything is with the old engines…

Not entirely, I don’t think any Su-30SM2s got AL-41F1Ss till late '24 and this year, the CEO of KnAAZ mentioned that Su-30SM2s w/ AL-41F1Ss (among the other two upgrade programs for other aircraft) would be something starting mainly this year.

Rafale is the best aircraft BY A LOT , with the gazillions buffs it got on the dev server INCLUDING the MICA BUFF, even if the SU30 gets the new engines. What are you even talking about? Let me guess USA main?

As suspected

PW-229 serial production 1999 year

I agree 30SM deserve to upgrade to AL-41F-1C in game
i got source but its Russian if u ll translate it

The Su-30SM never received new engines. The problem is that it has an overestimated drag, and its opponents have overestimated the characteristics.

What MICA buff are you talking about ?

The MICA buff in question: a faster launch aircraft lmao.

Like literally, the AIM-120 was up there coming from an F-15C at Mach 1.3 and then the F-15E came out and AIM-120 at Mach 1.6 minimum had a much higher pK from 20-30 km.

Okay but seriously, Gaijin a while back fixed thrust vectoring missiles in general so they don’t really spin out too much at low speed or wiggle/overcorrect as much over a long distance as it did before.

MICA doesn’t hold energy well because thrust vectoring but being fired from a faster aircraft like the Rafale means you can sometimes see success in BVR - nothing crazy like AIM-120 can regardless of launch speed though despite the similar performance in a straight line (assuming a non manoeuvring target)

i have heard of the al-41f being on su30sm2 as long as ive heard of su30sm2. but it wouldnt be the first time this has happened to russian modernization

currently the micas in the dev server whilst better because of how difficult notching them as become theyre still not as good as r-77-1. sure it has a better radar but su30sm has more and better missiles. an su30sm2 with the al41 would be the top dog in arb anyone can see that. right now su30sm would be tied with the f15e on third place. also i will be playing su30sm on day one i quite like flankers

Nope. MICAs got their seeker’s FOV reduced so technically they are harder to chaff

I don’t think you understand how good MICAs are. While is true R-77-1 have a " longer " range , MICAS dominate close to medium ranges. Not only that , r-77-1 BVR is only good against less experienced players flying in a straight line. Otherwise, useless.

no way micas will dominate medium ranges too, they dont have the energy to do so right now.

drag whilst maneuvering isnt taken into account for r77 sure, but the TVC on the mica has the same problem

thats all fox 3s in bvr ranges, 25km+ kills can only happen against bad or distracted players.

According to flight manual first F-15E with PW-229 is 90-233. Which is 1990.

Wrong. F-15Es were factory built with -229s since 1990. It’s not comparable at all to the Su-30SM being refit to the extent of the SM2 standard.

Yes the rafale still the top1 dogfighter its 100% true. The first few day in the dev server the su30sm wasn’t even in the top 5 planes. That’s why there was no reason to nerf it. The al41 engine would only be usable so that it would live 20sec instead of 10sec against the rafale.

No, the 229 engine implement with hmd in ~2010 when the usa implement the aim9x to f15. It is easy to tell from the F15E’s cabin that it is a modernized version.
