i mean, strv123A, is a wannabe 2a7v, so discussion the 2a7v and the possible upgrades for the 123a as a result isnt off topic. can still be decided as well that the strv123a receives the eurothrophy
Both yes and no, the leopards are so different in many aspects other than general look that you can’t really use one of them as an example to guess what another gets in its upgrades.
Look at it like a build-a-bear, sure, it’s still a bear but most of them will look completely different.

huh, i’m not even American so i thought it was universally known.
Basically a company where you can build your own teddy bear from scratch, like pick all of the parts and clothes etc.

We do actually know that it retains the MEXAS armor package of the 122B, possibly even that of the 122 B+, and receive the upgraded gun that is present on the 2A6/2A7 (Extended to I believe 55-56 calibers)
It’s also I believe getting an upgraded FCS and optical system.
I do not, however, believe it will receive the Trophy system on the Leopard 2A8 demonstrator, as Sweden see’s it as un-needed, and haven’t done any R&D into active protection systems.
The 122C is a 122A with new comms and some other minor stuff.
Yea, so far no plans to upgrade the armour have been revealed. Only L/55 (probably A1), new sights and new drive train.
There’s also a supposed 123C, which we know nothing about yet. Might be another upgrade or the new MBT Sweden is still selecting, which will likely be the 2A8.

There’s a lot said about both 122 upgrades and the 123 up gun
One source said 122C/D got Attica and used the leopard 2 manufacturer as a source but I couldn’t find where it traced back to
Some sources still say the 123 is using the eye sores that are gen 1
Some say it upgraded with the 123 upgrade
That source is certainly wrong. Frank Lobitz states the C/D received a new BMS, new intercom, Leo 2 standard batteries aand halon fire supression system. The 122D additionally received UltraCaps.
The 123’s internal designation of 2A7S should tell you what it’ll look like :p

Frank lobitz is also a German man in a corrupt system, not a Swedish man in a much less corrupt system
Yes he’s second head of tank development but Germany don’t make everything for the leopards in Sweden, hell they only made like 20 of the 110 or so Strv 122s anyway
Much isn’t known about Swedish tanks as they keep their stuff a lot more tight lipped than nations like the USA and Germany

Ah yes, “leopard 2 manufacturer” in question being the sky itself with how empty of a claim that is; the source for anybody that is interested is this website;
Also this blog by SH_MM (but he made sure to call it a speculation so that people don’t get the wrong idea, but even despite that, some people’s confirmation bias is way too strong);
Aside from these two, there’s nothing else that talks about 122s having 3rd gens.
p.s: this guy’s also used an old forum post of mine once to claim that 122C has ATTICA (so you don’t have to take anything he says seriously, especially the bit about him calling Lobitz untrustworthy, lol).
