Because it has stabilizer and laser range finder, most 8.3 doesnt have both, only a few british centurions have them, but the stb 2 has much better mobility than those.
It also has active suspension.
If you cant use apds effectively - I am sorry but it is a skill issue.
APDS is one of my fave rounds.
Seems to me that a large proportion of the community wants to be able to one-shot everything just by looking at - but not for themselves.
I swear to god if these people got their way - every single round/shot would be a 1 shot kill in every single vehicle.
And then ofc they would complain that they themselves are getting 1 shot lol.
Didn’t 1 shot the enemy tank with that shot? -Game broken, unplayable etc etc etc.
“Come play warthunder - we have lots of tanks and lots of ammunition”" - - - oh cool - what are the differences between them? - - - “absolutely nothing because people complained”
What next? Complaining that a Cromwell does not have the same armour as a tiger?
It is just ridiculous at this point.
the gaslighting is unreal let us ignore how ridiculously frequently apds shatters and ricochets. it is objectively the worst cold war ap round, also active suspension is a gimmick
You are a gimmick mate.
I hardly EVER have apds shatter, it goes right through 90% of everything I shoot at - if not more.
Active suspension is rather useful for managing gun depression.
Show me a video of this constant shell shatter or bounce that you seem to experience.
apds is a joke round idk what kind of apds you are using that doesnt shatter on fairly flat surfaces and bounces off the slightest angle no matter how thin the plate is. and yes active suspension is a gimmick when you have poor gun handling and traverse to begin with
Show me some videos then mate.
What has gun handling got to do with lowering your suspension on an incline to achieve the desired gun depression to get a firing solution?
traverse you dolt, if you have worse elevation than western tanks you have to waste extra seconds to achieve similar depression over an angle
the gun traverses slowly therefore the ability to lower your suspension to get enough gun depression is nullified? wow, that’s a new one.
the angle, holy crap is this alviswislas alt or something
no you are just talking rubbish matey
So having different capabilities or specs from other tanks is a problem now? or having a mechanism that addresses the shortfall is a gimmick?
I am still waiting for this shell shatter footage
It uses the same round as the Turm III, which in my experience does not shatter. Does have some APDS moments every now and then, but I can attest to this APDS round being 90% consistent.
Potentially having worse gun depression than other tanks - problem
Having a mechanism that resolves the supposed lack of depression - gimmick or problem.
So what then? remove the vehicle? tell me. what do we do?
Lets also not forget that it has a fully stabilised 105mm British gun with a laser rangefinder and active suspension at 8.3 with good mobility and a .50 ontop.
I mean I have played the vehicle alot, I even just took it into a test drive - lasered the T72 at the far end of the map and fired - didnt aim at anything in particular - - guess what?! - - straight through and damaged carousel, breech and killed 1 crew.
Every other vehicle was a 1 shot kill.
