St-a 2b

could be an interesting premium or event vehicle. I see no need for it in the tree, seeing as we have the ST-A 1, 2, 3 and Type 61 already.

Does not bring anything to the game besides a slightly different model and another vehicle to grind thru to get to much better vehicles.

Maybe it won’t bring anything fundamentally new to the branch, but for example it will become an excellent mid-rank premium, which Japan is so lacking.

Is the front turret stronger with that mantlet than Type 61?

Would be a nice tech tree or squadron vehicle.

I like it! The gun shield is very distinctive, and it would be a fun little event or BP tank. +1

The initial idea of this vehicle suggestion is to giving the tech tree a rank 4 premium or BP or event vehicle whatever Gaijin wants to do with it.

If you take a look at the rank 4 Japan, currently it has nothing, none! it is empty in the premium section.
The HT No. VI is currently onl available at marketplace with extremely high price tag.
For the Ho-Ri, i don’t know if it still available for purchase in the game since i already have it but i heard it was removed.

Regadless we have no premium medium tanks.
Additionally this tank is also ideal for those that love the high reverse speed and pivot turning abilities of the ST-A but prefer the improved firepower and range finder of the Type 61 making ST-A 2B a perfect combination.

I can definitely see it being a worthy addition as a squadron type sidegrade(squadrons being smth a lot of trees could do at different BRs) or alternatively as a battle pass or lower BR GE vehicle tho of these options the BP one would be best imo.

Me personally say’s fuck this tank but I know there are people who want it so add it.

I’d like to +1 it but the lack of pictures, information and general documentation makes it a very hard sell, especially for Gaijin since it doesn’t belong to their favorite country.

If we could accumulate more information, it would make the sell easier.

Understandable. However, it’s actually quite unusual for a Japanese prototype to have seven or eight high-resolution color pictures of the vehicle, taken from all angles like this. This is the best you can get for the relatively unknown tank from Japan. Some prototypes like B78, GSR, TKX, SUB-I-II etc., have even fewer photographs taken than this tank.
Regarding its history, it follows a similar storyline to that of the ST-A 1 and 2 and the overall development of the Type 61. We’re well aware of its origins, influences, and key features like the gun, engine, and mobility.

Are there any images of the STA-1B?

Japanese Wikipedia mentions it as an STA-1 a new engine, while STA-2B would test a new transmission. I’d think it’d be very interesting to see both if possible.
