It’s a prototype, and although there’s the MiG-29KR, the Sukhois are still the main representatives of the Russian Naval Aviation branch.
A prototype being in service with the Russian Navy right now? Uhhhh
You don’t get it…
The MiG-29K is a 1980s prototype based on the MiG-29M, while the one in service right now is courtesy of India reviving the project and modernizing it. It’s called the MiG-29KR and Russia decided to adopt it as well, but the Sukhois are still the face of the Russia’s naval air power.
The MiG-29K is not the same as the KR.
The Mig-29K is the one what India uses.
Heres the poll Mikoyan MiG-29K (9-41) - "Living on the Edge"
Does this mean we’re going to start seeing naval vessels in air RB maps? At the moment the only air maps you see carriers on are SIM EC maps and theres only 4 at that.
Seems kinda pointless that we make a deal out of it when you’ll never see it in air RB and AB.
Here’s an older thread.
I didn’t mean to say the MiG-29KR is used by the Indians, only that reviving and modernizing it (the project) was their idea.
Kuznetsov should produce a lot of smoke to be realistic…
And lets not forget about spontaneous combusts…
And rust…
And on tow…
Think Napalm bombs are going to be extra effective against it?
music to my ears
they got new planes every update
yet still not enough and thought that they are got left out.
Not gonna lie
So funny just an update ago people were complaining about “RuSsIaN bIaS”
Now people are like “why russia no get fox 3”
At this point the community cannot get anything new without some sort of stupid whining
As for it’s use as a squadron vehicle, I think this isn’t that radical and even slightly logical
It won’t fit in any line that well(won’t fit in either the sukhoi or yakolev line) and if it is a premium, people will whine even more
Am i mad we never got a seperate Yak-38M-Yak141-Su-33 naval line? slightly
but is this some sort of demonic act the community makes it look like? No
Just stop complaining at this point, just makes us look dumb
Aircraft carriers with ramps belong at the bottom of the ocean, but its very cool still.
… Carrier based plane.
But don’t care for missile thunder
But carrier based plane on redfor side.
… I guess I’ll gotta change my squadron research
So you are telling me im going to have to wait 3 months to play my favourite aircraft ever :(((
Because there is no way im spending an upsurd amount of GE for a vehicle without a talisman.
I was planning to buy the SU-27ML to get to it quicker but ig the snail doesn’t want my money, it just wants my sanity T-T
What?
I actually was not expecting the Su-33 going to be an event vehicle tbh!
How cooked am i x)
I forgot the planes name but i couldnt be asked to go check
MiG23ML
Well I was going to research the Hunter F.58 but here we are
This is the best possible way to add her. Thank you for giving “Short Bus” a soft landing. 13.0 is about to feel the Flanker baby!
If we’re getting a prototype Su-33 in the TT, it’s going to either be the idealized Su-33, with some sort of radar that can launch ARH’s and the AL-31F-M1’s, or it’s going to be the Black 305 demonstrator, which is nominally called the Su-27(33)SMK, a canard-less Flanker modernized with the same tech that brought the Su-30 to the SM level, without TVC. That’s not a bad way to go. Not Yak-141 levels of actual historical stretching, but another Yak-141 moment for most in the community to complain about.
It was for a period of time, but it was replaced by the Su-30SM for land based Naval Aviation and the MiG-29K for carrier operations.
There’s something like 50 airframes, and they stopped flying out of Saki before the thing happened in the country we can’t talk about. They’ve done limited carrier ops in the North and far East. The Su-33 really isn’t a big addition man.
Were, not anymore, see above in this comment. It’s a mixed representation at best, and the main Sukhoi in Russian Naval Aviation now is the Su-30SM and Su-30SM2.
