Squadron Vehicles: Su-33

Respectfully Gaijin, this vehicle should not be squadron, instead being situated after the YaK-141. It makes 0 sense for it to not be in the tech tree, its like making every F-14 a squadron vehicle.

Not really. It would be like making an obscure, alternate F-14 a squadron vehicle, with the other F-14s in the tech tree.

Or even an event vehicle like the F-14A IRIAF.

Well theres still Mig-29kr in the furute

I’m sorry the Su-33 is literally the main naval multirole aircraft of the late Soviet Union and Russian Federation. It is a pure disgrace to put it anywhere but the line of its predecessor the YaK-38.

Not really, its just an old abandoned fighter project put on life support with small modernisations like the L-150 RWR. Not particularly multi-role, or the main anything.

The Su-27S is the tech tree version, the Su-33 is the obscure alternate version.

It’s so clear that you have 0 idea what you’re talking about and pay no attention to the military happenings of the Russians from like the 80s to present. The Su-33 has been on continuous deployment for literal years. It is not at all obscure.

Nothing obscure about the Su-33. It is the navalized Flanker. It has no Western equivalents.

If Gaijin wanted some Flanker variant as squadron vehicle filler they could have used something the Su-27UB or an early version of the Su-30.

Not exactly a big deal.

Why the hostility? Have a calm discussion.

Ok, I don’t understand his perspective either, but no need to be harsh.

MiG-29K still exists. Much better than the Su-33 as next in line after the Yak-141 imo. It carries R-77.

It’s a prototype, and although there’s the MiG-29KR, the Sukhois are still the main representatives of the Russian Naval Aviation branch.

A prototype being in service with the Russian Navy right now? Uhhhh

You don’t get it…

The MiG-29K is a 1980s prototype based on the MiG-29M, while the one in service right now is courtesy of India reviving the project and modernizing it. It’s called the MiG-29KR and Russia decided to adopt it as well, but the Sukhois are still the face of the Russia’s naval air power.

The MiG-29K is not the same as the KR.

The Mig-29K is the one what India uses.
Heres the poll Mikoyan MiG-29K (9-41) - "Living on the Edge"

Does this mean we’re going to start seeing naval vessels in air RB maps? At the moment the only air maps you see carriers on are SIM EC maps and theres only 4 at that.

Seems kinda pointless that we make a deal out of it when you’ll never see it in air RB and AB.

Here’s an older thread.

I didn’t mean to say the MiG-29KR is used by the Indians, only that reviving and modernizing it (the project) was their idea.

Kuznetsov should produce a lot of smoke to be realistic…
And lets not forget about spontaneous combusts…
And rust…
And on tow…
