what is the reference used that shows the derby has too much drag?
well it has a little smoke trail at launch, but its so low that I doubt enemy planes can see em at all
The fact that it’s under mach 1 at 9km ?
The fact it has more drag than any other ARH AAM shows ingame
I meant A2A and high alt BVR mainly, forgot this was a SPYDER thread for a sec, but yeah it’s underperforming at low alt and subsequently on SPAA systems firing it from there, should have more range there.
Derby allegedly has 50km range (air to air) according to Israeli Weapons website, which I guess can be trusted
However I can’t find anything from Rafael stating the range while being air to air launched, just 20km when ground launched
it seems like they changed the spyders radar tracking and derby max range.
Can you showcase it?
Looks good, hopefully not just you getting lucky. They still need to fix the wobble tho
How’s the tracking? Still getting ghost returns?
it tracks fine, still struggles a little with stuff over the horizon, but i did kill the ka-50 on his helipad.
Good, what about Derby not going pitbull?
i haven’t been able to test that
They changed nothing. You can see the heli was very much stationary, missile it fired (or whatever that is) and F-15 were updated around once every 1s. You just got lucky radar worked as it should in its current implementation.
And python just tracked i guess.
Noted
i don’t remember the tracking being this good.
Update speed and tracking fidelity are two different things tbf, if the radar isn’t ghosting anymore that’s a massive start.
As i said
It not that obvious with this one.
error405 my beloved
When I get up I’ll take her out for a spin and see
