Yep, but I don’t know if the AiO is the exact same in size.
Does anyone know the height of the Spyder AiO including the fully deployed radar? My image editing skills say that it’s 8.12 meters but I’ll never trust my skills on this. I wanted to know the blidspots on the radar.
This is the larger launcher for the Spyder LR that carries the missiles with boosters
Hmmmm so it’s larger?
Longer, not sure if it’s also thicker/wider
jesus you guys are clinging to the 8 launcher one.
its not realy currently pretty much end of the discussion. It isnt even more real then the KH38MT.
There is no different stagesn of realness. they both dont exist easy as that.
Its not that easy to justput 4 more missle tanks on it. There is stuff like weight, electronics etc that need to be considered. Are you guys forgetting that the AIO is taking an additional radar with itself that puts more strain on the chassis.
Broschures and mock ups dont matter. People let it slid for the KH38MT because they didnt know better.
But its painfully obvious the spyder aio is restricted to 4 launchers
But this one is clearly real, in Rafael’s video:P
Got a question for the more Radar/RWR literate amongst you.
In regards to Spyder AIO appearing in the leak, given this thing is so new, and so little known about it, I’m just curious how it would work with existing ingame RWR
Would it just show up as a “?” on RWR, as presumably none of our aircraft ingame have encountered one before thus not programmed to recognize it?
Do we already have an AESA SPAA ingame? In real terms what does that really mean in terms of playing with it ingame ?
Cheers
Possible, but it just might be treated as something that was put into current planes RWR
We do, it’s ASRAD-R. It means absolutely nothing. At least now there is nothing special about it.
Yes, it would show up as a ?’
We have the Pantsir with a PESA track radar and ASRAD-R search radar
Spyder will also not give lock warning because it uses TWS (if any radar can detect its band)
also afaik, it can run on low enough power to be undetectable by rwr
And Tor, and HQ. When it comes to search we also have PESA on ZA-35. ASRAD-R is AESA.
So a feature of HARD (ASRAD-R), that is not implemented.
Why would that be a problem? It’s IEEE S band, so well within most RWR.
Cheers for the responses gents ^
As another question, do we have any idea what the capabilities should look like in regards to engaging multiple targets simultaneously with Derby’s?
Assumptions
You designate a target, and you fire. Then, just like in planes, the target is automatically updatet using DL untill terminal.
Question here: Does the Spyder have smoke grenades/something to defend itself against IR/TV munitions? The Flarakrad does.
believe me when i tell you they do jackshit, KH38mt has IOG and so much explosive to take you out even if you smoked
Hmm, yes, hadn’t though about it, but still if you throw the smoke before they can launch then they can’t fire at you.
hah good joke
They can? Damn then there’s no need to pop smoke. To be honest, I don’t have any SPAAs with smoke grenades and when I’m on the tanks, I don’t look up at the sky so I get bombed by them and don’t pop smoke.
you would first need to identify them and then decide if you wanna shoot or not
there is gos bombs that dont care about the smoke which can be thrown as well etc.
If you smoke yourself you are a dead fish in the water
Very true. Popping smoke reveals your position to other enemies… Then only thing one can do is intercept them.
