can someone sum up, how did they ruined the spyder? i don’t quite get it

Well, its all subject to change but here is small comparasing of what we supposed to recieve vs what was shown on a dev:
- 360x90 aesa radar → 360x70 with terrible refresh rate and no multitarget TWS
- Python 5 with 70G pull and smokeless motor → 26G pull missile with a smoke trail
- i-Derby ER with 40km double pulse smokeless motor → i-Derby SR with 20km range (more like 10-15) smoke motor
- ability to use radar while in retracted position → only in extended position
- ability to track targets via optical lock and launch P5 without radar → no optical lock and launch functionality
Thats first what comes to mind.

sholef is not a sholef, namer has transparent armor, giraf missing the ability to raise and lower tow, chaparral doesn’t have a smokeless motor, the tech tree starts at rank iv even tho it also could start at 1, they keep adding copy paste stuff

Someone posted a graph of performance specs of the new AA’s in RR thread earlier.
Derby :
5km - Mach 1.66
7.5km - Mach 1.15
10km - Mach 0.88
20km - Mach 0.51
Python :
5km - Mach 1.53
7.5km - Mach 0.88
10km - Mach 0.67
15km - Mach 0.44
For comparison, Pantsir is Mach 2.35 at 10km, and Mach 1.03 at 20km.
Oh, and although it’s not relevant to Spyder, I’ll post it here since it’s where most of ISR playerbase is lol,
In regards to the trophy bug, I asked Smin earlier in RR about it, he said it was being investigated but no ETA on a fix.
Nice to know it’s at least being looked into now I guess.

7.5km for python-5 is 18 sec + you also create a massive smoke trail during the launch.
at 7.5 km simple 90’ turn is enough to avoid the missile since it won’t have enough energy/speed, and even at 5km it depends on how well missile retains the energy… could be 50-50
Especially, since course correction/energy retention is implemented pretty bad for other systems too. classic crazy wobbling that drains all the energy:

Python-5 doesnt pull 70G on single plane.
Irl from a friendly fire incident where an Indian spyder sr shot down a mi17 with a python 5 at a distance of 6 km
According to the report, it took around 12 sec(11.5 second) for the missile to hit the target
I calculated the average speed of the python 5 which is 6000 divided by 11.5 equals to 521m/s (around mach 1.5)
In game rn it takes 13 sec to reach the same distance
Is there a possibility that it took less time to reach the target
Yes but we might never be able to know unless we get more data about incident
Pantsir is both a smaller and more powerful missile, as well as being directly launched and not launched vertically.
I know they are underperforming hugely but you really need to compare it to other vertically launched IR SPAA and not this two stage SACLOS monster.
well, there’s still no reason to make the missiles slower/equal in speed than 700 m/s.
this is just a blatant stat nerf which limits the missile by alot.
