It could deal with the Kh38s but not with the launch platform. All that the aircraft needs to do at 12km is launch and turn around within ~40 seconds, because when turned around the missile won’t catch the plane anymore at that range.
Yea but u talking about this change?
I test P5 with new stats.
And there’s really a lot to do:
Data link
Improve thrust
And change maneuverability because now it’s realy strange.
Sometime P5 can pull 180 in less then a sec. and sometime it can’t even hit F-4 in 4km away.
Sorry for my ENG, not my natural language
Yea and its a battle who would do a mistake first
Yes this nerf was unnececery at all and unrealstic too
Just putting this out there, P4 and P5 have Dual pulse motors irl. This would fix the range issue easily. They both have an average sustainer burn time of 80 seconds. Does the current build look like 80 seconds to any of you? It doesn’t to me, it also doesn’t act like a TV missile even though it is, and they took away its Optical tracking seeker. Just why? P4 was One of the first if not the first missile to use such technology you really think they wouldn’t keep it on P5? Gaijin nerfing Israeli stuff for no reason again
For anyone asking for proof of these facts here is a link to Rafael’s website on the Python 5 https://www.rafael.co.il/system/python5/
It is clearly shown that it has both a IIR seeker and a Dual pulse motor
Not a single word about dual pulse motor.
As i know it’s similar to P4 (ND10 if I’m right)
And there’s not even close to 80! sec of sustainer, it’s about 4+8, and that’s the only thing that Gaijin done well, P5 really should get DL and mush better seeker, with he’s maneuverability.
Soooooo…
i agree they nerfed it but never heard of python having 80 sec of burn time or dual pulse motor( derby er has it tho)
oh ok i see
it looks like they are talking about the python 5 mr which is the equivlant to I derby er(same motor)
i dont think it has 80 sec of burn time its way too much for its size and range even the python 5 mr
they still needs to heavily buff the python 5 it has way too much drag and missing data link and optical lock
derby is also mising thrust force
It is 80s average the reason Is because dual pulse motors aren’t always burning, they burn when needed and shut down when they aren’t. The missiles onboard computer makes the call automatically
U mean thrust adjusting yea
Im well aware p5 has thrust adjusting but it doesnt have 2 pulse motor its only the p5 mr (with booster) and even then i doubt it can be streched to 80 sec
U have source for that?
No, it’s for sure 4+8 sec engine.
But i think Gaijin supposed to improve thrust and maneuverability, add datalink and improve EO+IR lock range and lock angle
8+4 is without thrust adjusting but it should have that
ofc in the game we still doesnt have this mechanic but improved thrust and less drag should make it compettive
Thrust adjusting?
U have source for that?
tbh not rly but its basic thing to modern missiles and i saw someone in the forum that showed smt about it also considering it has “close to ammram performane”(idf official source) safe to say it has it
anyway it doesnt matter cuz we dont have this mechanic in the game
yea, but P4 (and P5 if I’m right) have ND10 and if Gaijin improve thrust, it’s gonna be very good missile with more then 10km effective range
One source out of many. PYTHON-4 AAM | DefenceTalk
This article clearly demonstrates the Python 4 not even the 5 having a two part motor with 80s of burn time on the sustainer and nearly 40km range from air launched platforms. If Python 4 had it I would be willing to bet money 5 has it too
https://www.rafael.co.il/system/python5/
And this second link of course is Rafael’s own website on the Python 5 shows it to have the Dual pulse motor
intresting however this site isnt a source
might be even a mistake
for rafael site i saw only two stage motor not dual pulse
On the Rafael website if you go down a bit there is a set of three text boxes that cycle the third one mentions “a 2 pulse rocket motor for longer ranges” note how it is not specified to be P5 MR, even though the same portion if the website clearly distinguishes I-Derby-ER. This leads me to conclude that they are indeed speaking about the standard Python 5 and not only the MR variant
yep u are right but it’s very hard to see it
