Since the release of the Hornet Sting update, I’ve been experiencing a sound bug in the game that’s absolutely driving me crazy.
The bug involves tank engine sounds from both enemies and allies not emitting any sound when you lose sight of them or when an object in the environment gets in the way. It doesn’t matter if the noisiest tank in the game is on the other side of a wall, just 20 meters away—I simply won’t be able to hear it.
P.S.: I understand how the game’s audio system works and know it functions similarly to my description of the bug. However, this never happened to me before the update.
It’s terrible right now. Enemy vehicles make no sound whatsoever. You get killed and after the killcam you see a moving tank that has no sound at all. I’ve also witnessed enemies that didn’t notice me even when I was right next to them, with my engine turned on.
I feel like this is potentially game breaking, as you have to rely on the sound in the small maps in Ground RB. Hell, even at low tier this is a problem due to many fast moving tanks just being able to flank you. I feel like this is a critical bug that needs to be fixed asap.
they were supposed to have “fixed” that by putting a hard capped distance where you would hear everything in a 215m radius but it clearly doesnt work, I’m getting flanked constantly by poeple not making a single sound and are even often not rendered at all because my “crew” can’t see them.
this is getting ridiculous and it’s been years now that sound is trash…
