Some doubts that arose with the arrival of the aim 120C-5

19 km more is a lot, It’s practically the distance a mica travels within the game, 5C travels the distance of an aim120ab + a mica

The key word there was at 38000 feet, on a target at 38000 feet, that isn’t maneuvering.

and if you want to go with that, ok.
Mica has more range then the 120c at 4000 ft altitude
to be specific it has 1.8 mile more range then the 120c

If these values are insignificant for you, then why add a new missile?

thats what ive been wanting to know.
its essentially a situationally based 120.
if you carry 4120b 2 120c and 2 sidewinders, you climb to 30k fire 2 120c descend into the melee with the 120b and sidesinders, other then that, I don’t know why they added it.

its rare to see anyone over 30,000 so the actual gain of a 120c is only going to be at its 16,000-30,000 which is about 5 miles, 2 miles if the target is below you

which is precisely the perfect scenario for an f15/E.

This is already a big gain, compared to other nations, and remembering that we are still in the first Sever dev, there will probably be more modifications and possibly improvements in the 5C, gaijin wouldn’t bother to make a new missile for nothing

Wrong, those countries were too poor to have MiG 23s. They were fighting MiG 19s and 21s.

Hey, having an even playing field is not how the US operates. They have to have complete dominance…or else.

2-5 miles on a non manuevering target quickly reduces in a real match as no one flys straight unless they are AFK. I hope they dont modify it to make it better, its a slightly upgraded and yet slight downgraded missile depending on how you use it.

Won’t even deploy their “best” plane if they don’t have dominance already

Only because it was expensive to repair and not worth it. If an A-10 gets hit by an AK round and they later put it in a boneyard is that a kill 🤣

What matters is that it got back to base

it matters that the F-15 never flew again

if a soldier losses a leg he might as well be dead on the battlefield

If it doesn’t fly again then it is downed. It may not be a loss, but it still is one less plane flying.

I said probably.

The F-15C pilot said he was doing a steep defensive maneuver and then the Iraqis lost radar contact which is why they thought it was shot down.

There are also no serials known of so I cant check if it flew after

The missile was already in the game files, same as the R-77-1.

Also:

lol, lmao even, as if the minor nations you grinded doesn’t have a form of the so broken AIM-120 when the only countries in the entire game that doesn’t have them are the USSR and China.

Keep the covert nation-based copium high.

they had but they all were on worse airframes for the 120 meta than the US

Germany had it on the worst rank 8 Airframe
Isreal had it on a F-15 without any DL channels and on their F-16 they had the Derby
France didnt had anything with the AIM-120
Britain, Sweden and Italy all had it on the Gripen which has bad acceleration and low top speed

the only nation, besides the US, that didnt had it on a subpar airframe for the spamraam meta was Japan

what about japan which had it on a better f15C?

so 2 out of 10 nations had the competetive combo for the meta at the time, great

france had an f16 with amraam and a better flight model than the f16c

not when seek and destroy released

the sub tree was added in firebirds iirc

they have added new missiles with basically no stat difference, so adding 1 that’s less than 10% better is nothing new
