So is DX12 crashing never gonna be fixed?

Maybe the new afterburner effects and to many of them loaded at the same time?

I’ll try a match at like 7.3 ish and see.

Though you’d think if it was AB related, it would happen most often on the runway at the very start as everyone is taking off.

So 7.7, no crash, now trying 8.3

What settings? Or is that for AMD only?

I am on AMD, with FSR3 on.

FSR is AMD’s version of DLSS (sort of).

So 8.3 sometiems crashes and sometimes doesnt (even in an uptier).

So its not necessarily clear cut what is going on in this regard

I’m so confused. I just by accident fixed it again!
I deleted the cache and shader folder. And just started the game. It didn’t like that and crashed because it had no shader folder. After that i validated the files and now the freezing is gone again…

Initial testing. deleting the “compiledShaders” folder and then verifying game integrity may have fixed it for me too.

Never mind, just had another crash.

No I do have 4090 and amd cpu, but this amd cpu also has a radeon prebuild graphics which is not used.

There were crashes once in a hour for me so its nothing.

I got crashes 6.3 ARB (P51-H) and top tier ground battles. I thinks its not a Top tier ARB thing. After game crash, i rejoined the match and there is no problem.

I made some tests in test drive and my result is this is very much related to napalms.

First one with Mig21-BISON, I tryed every afterburner stage %101-%110 fired missiles and after like 10 minutes my game didnt crashed.

Second with BISON too but i used Napalm. After throwing napalm, the game crashed when I pressed C to switch to free view.

Third test with P51H. Same to second test after napalm game crashed.

Fourth test with F16AM but i used Mk84 2000lb. To test whether it was related to ground bombing or napalm. And after too many bombs game didnt crashed.

Fifth and last test with F16AM and napalm. After i spawned i dropped napalms and game crashed very fast. Like in 1 minutes.

This might be why it crashes so late in ARB, or why it crashes at different times. It crashes every match because certain BRs (Like 11.3 with F104TAF, Mig21 Lazur and Mig23ML) use much more napalm.

I think there is a problem with the processing of afterburner, napalm, and other fire effects. I played the game repeatedly and the moment the plane was shot down and burst into flames, the game crashed.

Definitely isn’t when the player specifically deploys napalm, Britain doesn’t have anything with napalm.but I can check to see if that is related

Hmm… I was able to get it to crash with napalm in test flight.

Though I have a feeling its not the only cause, as how many people are doing napalm runs at 14.0? Also wierd that at every BR above 9.3, the crash is occuring at nearly the exact same time.

Edit: Checking the Typhoon replay I uploaded, A single player did napalm 2 bases, but the crash only occured after the second base was hit and nearly killed. So its not napalm = crash but maybe something related to an amount of napalm?

@Stona_WT Could you inform the devs that there appears to be a potential correlation between crashes and the use of Napalm weapons

I think any napalm in the match at all would cause the same issue.

Could be related to the type of fire in general even if the source isn’t napalm? I think some plane crashes create the same type of fire sometimes.
