Going by “for game purposes this is literally just that” is so dumb. Its ignoring all of the changes said platform went thru that simply arent reflected in game. You could say exactly the same thing about every single Leopard 2 variant after 2A4 with exception being Leopard 2K maybe.
Following this logic obviously F-16V would be just a direct CnP of F-16A too, or T-90M being just a T-72A or whole Abrams family for that matter.
Objectively speaking what else do you want them to add? Some made up dream tank like in WOT just for the sake of having truly unique (in your eyes) vehicle that we havent seen before?

If we removed everything that is functionally the same/similar to something else in the game, we’d be left with something like a third of what we currently have. One of the selling points of the game is the aesthetics, the possibility to roleplay historical vehicles, even if they’re somewhat similar to something else.
It’s why we have different tech trees with counterparts, different variants, copypaste to some extent, etc.
Hey, at least that is unique remix of the capabilities, however small it might be. Ever so slightly better protection but ever so slightly worse firepower when compared to 2A7V beats being just 2A7V with different name.
Theres some nuance to comparing them.
My jab was aimed at the kind of suggestion/addition that mention “domestic FCS upgrade” as sole reason for something being unique but then said FCS upgrade changing literally nothing. (Like “120B is definetively different to 120A” kind of deal).
