I didnt really enjoy “top gun” as a kid so i have zero interest in the Tomcat as a plane and I’m not very into Iranian military history. Wouldnt even be able to point the country out on a map.
Ive kept the idea of self-handicapping myself ever since I realised being left-handed gave me an advantage in fencing (sword fighting) when I was 12-13. Easy wins because opponents didn’t have an easy way to parry/counter me made wins easier but less fulfilling. As I grew up and was able to afford video games I applied that logic there too, Id prefer a more fulfilling win by beating them with superior skill over superior equipment.
I’m not going to grind for a vehicle I won’t use out of principle either and I have too much sanity to get the score for the token to sell it.
13.0 because of the older radar + worse flight performance compared to the F-15A. Phoenixes and Fakours aren’t hard to dodge (even on the dev server) if you fly low, use terrain, and go cold as needed.
While I would love a improvement to IR AAMs on the US F-14s, this is really just a AIM-54 problem imo.
Its been well known and reported multiple times now, but the 54s really just need a drag reduction, the same aggressive AP as the Fakour 90s and it’s improved G loading (fin AOA and accel included), I could care less about AIM-9s, I just want my fat, telephone pole of a AAM to preform as it says it should on the tin.
AP stats for reference vs AIM-120. The closer to the 120’s stats they are the better they will path, the Fakour currently is closer than both the base 54A and the digitally upgraded 54C which should have a better AP than the A.
Reminder as well, even with these changes the AIM-54 will still be vastly inferior to the Fakour 90 by the virtue of the Fakour’s incredibly superior motor. Speaking of which, where is the reduced smoke motor for the AIM-54C?
the fakour has much better range, twice as fast time to target at longer ranges and is a fox 3 so i really dont see why it shold be lower than the lowest br plane with r27er, not to mention you have 4 of them
