Simulator 12.7 - 13.0 Br bracket and 13.3 - 14.0+ br rating

+1
12.7 vs. 14.0 as a new player is not even a video game.

yeah at the very least if they dont want to adjust BR, we need a 13.3 lobby.

I 99% agree with you.

F-14 and AIM-54 isn’t that good.

AIM-54 requires a lot of time to get up to speed and start maneuvering. Even then it’s very easy to dodge kinetically and it can be notched like any other radar missile. If you played an F-14 you know that when you launch AIM-54s, they drop like a bomb, stay under you for a few seconds and then they start accelerating.

Also the F-14 itself has a lot of limitations, the biggest one being a radar with only PD HDN modes.

You can’t compare AIM-54 to AIM-120. You can’t compare F-14 radar + AIM-54 to F-4F ICE radar + AIM-120. F-14 can compete with F-4F ICE in the same way an F-16A ADF or F-15A can, with a much better airframe, but not with AIM-54s. Your whole point was to separate those 2 worlds, right?

R-27ER is an answer, the problem is that MiG-29 and Yak-141 have only 2 of them, have worse flight models and only R-60Ms, no R-73s. Su-27 with 6 ERs at 13.0 would probably tip the scale so much, that redfor would be better at 13.0.

R-27ER is a much better missile than the AIM-54, even though AIM-54 is a Fox 3. ER has less range, but has much better acceleration and is much faster.

AIM-54 may be a Fox 3, but it’s not a medium range missile. It doesn’t pull off the rail at all. Like I said, it’s not an amraam, it’s a fat bomber killer, a flying bomb.

If F-14 pressures you with AIM-54s, you can just notch/dodge the first AIM-54, turn cold and let him get closer, his radar won’t be able to see you and he won’t be able to launch any radar missiles. Once he gets close you lock him with HMD and R-27ER wins it for you with its acceleration and speed.

F-14 may get airspace, but with its radar it’s counterproductive, since now it’s surrounded by enemies and can’t see half of them that are going cold. F-14 can’t really chase people down with its radar, can’t IFF efficiently.

It’s already better, due to F-4F Ice and others

I can agree with you. I mean, after all most of the times the real problematic F14 is the IRIAF and I see many people saying that the regular F14 wouldnt be a problem, and even if personally I dont like it, I could still accept the regular F14 staying at their BR. If I could get everything else to change in exchange for leaving the F14 (IRIAF excluded, that one needs to go up) at 12.7, i would still do the change 100%.

I have F-14 IRIAF, but didn’t play it at all (I hate RWR of the A version). Fakour 90 is way better than AIM-54s. Much stronger motor, much better acceleration and much faster, faster than R-27ER even. You can compare them on StatShark - See All Player, Missile, and Vehicle Statistics and see how huge the difference is between AIM-54 and Fakour-90.

F-14 IRIAF definitely should move up.

Guys I’ve been told by another player that in dev server the su 27 is finally at 13.0 Can someone verify if this is true? Also, there is a f18 premium for germany at 12.7 and that should greatly improve red team experience.

The Fakour is still an objectively bad missile… I don’t know the average skill level of Sim players but a 20G bomber missile variant that arrives around 10 seconds sooner doesn’t seem all that threatening…

It can chase people down in general. Sure it’s fast, but none of your missiles and avionics allow you to get kills rear aspect against an aware target.

No change yet

But I hope it doesnt happen, because if it does. Then it means no new sim brackets and we need those desperately

Still going to be basically just F-18 vs F-18 still. Which is rather dull for everyone else. Especially if you are trying to play something like the Tornado Gr4 with no radar.

I meant that you won’t know if you’re chasing an enemy or an ally until you get very close, potentially wasting a lot of time.

Dammit, I really hope they move those planes down. They’re completely useless at the moment and I’m sure that Gaijin can see that nobody plays them. Especially now after the f18 was introduced there is really no reason for the su27 to stay that high in br.

About the f18, yes, you’re gonna get a lot of mirror matches, but the main point is that it’s gonna pump more players into red team, making games at least numerically more balanced.

I still think a 12.3-13.3 bracket is better for the overall game health than moving all 13.3s to 13.0

You just said that 12.3 i weak against 12.7 and 13.0. How does this improve the game play by making them face 13.3 aircraft?

Why would you care? No body plays red side 12.7 or 13.0 because they dont have team composition. They only have the j8f, f16mlu, mig29, and f4 Ice against all of Nato. Bringing the Su27 down would encourage red side players to play. Over the last 2 years i can only play all vs all nations if i want to play 13.0 or 12.7. There aren’t any red vs blue lobbies.

I still think we should have something like this:

Or, if extended to 14.3:

Especially 13.3. would still be a troubled spot, because of the small number of aircraft there, but that would regulate itself out by the community, as still 13.0’s will join also lobbies with 13.3 top, and if they don’t want to do that, well, 13.3. will have to wait for 13.7 rotations (which is still better than the 100% uptier to 14.0 they face currently.

Or make a permanent 12.3 - 13.0 bracket. Bring certain planes down to 13.0 due to performance like the Su27, J11, and Su33.

Then 13.3 always faces 14.0. It seems that the greater problem is over performing weapons and flight models at 14.0. The argument should be to nerf the Rafael and Eurofighter to match the more realistic gen 4 flight models it fights. Or we should give it a new br away from the realistic gen 4 flight models.

Or remove them from the game

If thats the case then why doesn’t red side play 13.0?

Or counter play with R27ET if the Su27 comes down to 13.0

Because they dont want to.
Theres no logical explanation on that
