afaik it doesn’t have countermeasures, which means it would either be at a br where it would be OP in a downtier with only pl-2bs (aim9E) or at a br where its unplayable like the Chinese f104g if it gets the pl-5b

Honestly, I’m still wondering why this wasn’t added as the first J-8, instead they jumped to the B variant first. A bit dumb, honestly. Would definitely love to see a lower BR J-8.

The J-8A should be equipped with PL-4A missiles/PL-4B missiles. The PL-4A is a radar-guided missile, while the PL-4B is an infrared-guided missile.
