This aircraft needs to be added now, it’s time.
I mean, every other country has at least one modern aircraft with specific CAS capabilities above 12.0 in ground RB, F-15E, Rafale, EF-2000s, SU-34, Su-30SM, F/A-18Cs, Barak & Ra’am, F-2s…
The Chinese aircrafts needs its Strike Fighter ! And what is this aircraft? This version of the J-16! I don’t understand why it’s not already after the JH-7A.
Not to mention that the J-10C and J-11BGH are clearly missing in the regular tech tree.
And the J-15 (2013) as the premium to give a run for their money to all those F-18s that we have everywhere. A naval fighter for a naval fighter, that’s fair play !

nah, I certainly wouldn’t want my flanker gimped into the ground just because it isn’t russian, you look at the J-11A and J-11B, both of them are comically gimped, the J-16 should arrive no sooner than after the Su-35S so they have zero excuse to make it worse than the Su-35S.

What makes you think that? I mean, why make that claim without any argument? It doesn’t make sense.
IIRC the J-16 can’t use older gen fox 2s so it couldn’t realistically be implemented before we get modern fox 2s. But of course they can always add ahistorical loadouts for balance, though I’d say they should keep the J-16 for higher brs like the F-15EX and Su-35S

It’s not the physical plane itself that is too good, but the armament it carries. It carries up to PL-17 and is the current testbed for the PL-21. We don’t even have PL-15 equivalent weapons in-game yet. I didn’t make this argument because I figured it was obvious.
Now that I think about it, even the physical plane itself may be too good (if they don’t add a similar plane at the same time to other nations).
I’m not saying I wouldn’t want to see the J-16 in-game, I very much would, but if they added it now, it would be so comically nerfed it might make grown men cry.

In what ways would the airframe be superior to stuff like the Rafale and EFT? I know it has good engines but are they that good?
It has similar T/W ratios to the EFT T2 that is in-game. I believe the EFT is a clear winner at empty weight, but MTW is less clear. It has more stealth paint and composites than the EFT T2, which in WT will just increase the notch window, not to mention the EFT T2’s IRST is worse among myriad other things, but also
The EFT’s air-to-ground ordnance aint even a swimmer in the J-16’s nutsack.
I suppose the airframe wouldn’t be significantly better in WT than the EFT. It’s everything else that is better.

J16 doesn’t even have highest thrust to weight for a flanker, you’re over blowing it
I stated that it “wouldn’t” be sig. better than the EFT. Meaning would not.
How is saying somethings not better over blowing it?
The TTW empty (17,700kg) is 1.58, at medium load (22,000kg) it is 1.27, and finally for a full load (33,000) it is 0.85.
You will rarely use the full load, so we can say that the TTW is between 1.58 and 1.27. I dont see any exageration here, but maybe a bias from your side ?

First of all intake losses. Second of all what I said there was that it’s not the best flanker in terms of thrust to weight which is true, I doubt it’s gonna be better than the j11bg with ws10b
Yeah as you said yourself, it’s mostly the rest. And weaponry (and avionics, as proved by the eft) are balancing factors in game so they could add the J-16 soon. But again, I think it’s better to keep it for later tiers and add stuff like the J-11BG, J-15 and J-10C (Su-30MK2 can also come but it won’t be very remarkable unless it also goes to 13.3 like the premium one)

Is this with WS10D? Afaik the WS10B is exclusive to the J10B and the WS10C is exclusive to the J20, slight tangent but iirc the J10C should also come with the WS10D as well.
when might we see the j-16?
China is getting the J-10C next major, and the Su-30MKK/MK2 soon as well, so don’t expect the J-16 anytime soon. Especially since it would arguably be the best Chinese jet (with the J-15T) until 5th gen, so they should probably keep it for later
