I mainly want to wait for the dev and find out the empty weight they set for the J-16
Even if it ends up being the same weight as the Su-30MKK it’ll be better than the J-15T since the J-15T is heavier than the MKK.
Currently both have the same engines

Your inability to understand is simply your problem.
The J-16 was supposed to be a fighter jet no less capable than the F-15EX and Su-35.
The fact that we only get an aircraft with a missile payload and radar rotation angle inferior to the Su-30SM2 almost a year after its introduction is problematic in itself.
