Shenyang J-11, J-16, J-15, History, Performance & Discussion

As it should be tbh. US will dominate Fox 3s if given even proper 120c-7/D not counting 260. And I guess Russia can debatably be given R-37 if they are severely lacking

Editing to say: the 9X is no joke and will absolutely wreck lobbies if given proper off-rail pull and accurate targeting. But blah blah blah

Given what they have done/are doing with Python 5 on the Spyder, I also fear for Israel.

Pyton-5 will most likely receive its true performance once everyone gets similiar missiles on aircraft’s.

Well, more specifically, it should be the moment arm, which combined with the force from the fins creates the torque that is pitch authority. We arent 100% sure what the value they use represents though. For some missiles it seems like they are using an approximate distance in meters from an action point on the fins to the axis of rotation (erroneous if thats what they’re doing) but it doesnt hold up on other missiles.

That being said, yeah, dropping the distFromCmToStab value reduces the fins control authority.

What’s the next Gen Rus IR? I fell off keeping up with that paper bear. But I do agree, overall. Especially with English and French IRs. Also unsure of what comes after the AAM3, but I assume japan has/will have bumped those quite a bit in the last decade-ish

R74M at least, tho they can get R-74M2 if Gaijin skips first versions of next gen ir missiles.

AAM5, basically Japan equivalent of IRIS-T/PL-10 more or less.

Also want to add that the world is asymmetrical so I definitely don’t mind if the game is also asymmetrical to reflect that regarding “power creep.” It’s already obvious in late Cold War BRs where you can tell Warsaw Pact had defensive interceptors and reliant on ground radars as well as having a heavy program for SAMs vs the US being so Air dominant and offensive focused.

I’d be completely fine if they added accurate missiles (among other stuff like FMs and Radars) even if some countries underperform because that’s accurate and people shouldn’t expect Thailand to compete with something like France or Sweden.

So basically what I’m hearing is the equivalents already exist for every nation, they just need to model performance for them and give them to us. If they say “maps and game modes aren’t ready for those” I don’t wanna hear it. Not my problem lol

Yeah but the issue is that currently while balance is completely broken it’s somewhat playable

Most people in arb are really bad and don’t even average 1kill/battle giving more potent missile may be a bigger issue.

PL-12 nerf is not deserved but at the same time you have airframes like the Su-30MKK ruining a BR completely…

yup, and the su-30mkk can run r-77s/r-27ers anyways over pl-12 should they choose to.

Was there a report prior to this PL-12 change? Or they just went and did it regardless?

No, as usual Gaijin doing baseless changes

it possible that they use english huds even in chinese service

i heard that they use english for their callouts and stuff for a2a, because manderin isnt too great for it

and to make things simpler i wouldnt be suprised if the hud is in english too
(at least for me it would be pretty akward to constantly switch languages)

THing is, if measured in meters, an inch from the stab will be ridiculous for a missile’s mass distribution.

This is a trade show thing, of course it would be in english. Think of it this way, this is at the Zhuhai airshow, the PLAAF doesn’t need to shop at a tradeshow they’d literally just go get the stuff made, and that bullshit with English in PLAAF is clearly opsec lmao
