Well, more specifically, it should be the moment arm, which combined with the force from the fins creates the torque that is pitch authority. We arent 100% sure what the value they use represents though. For some missiles it seems like they are using an approximate distance in meters from an action point on the fins to the axis of rotation (erroneous if thats what they’re doing) but it doesnt hold up on other missiles.
That being said, yeah, dropping the distFromCmToStab value reduces the fins control authority.

Also want to add that the world is asymmetrical so I definitely don’t mind if the game is also asymmetrical to reflect that regarding “power creep.” It’s already obvious in late Cold War BRs where you can tell Warsaw Pact had defensive interceptors and reliant on ground radars as well as having a heavy program for SAMs vs the US being so Air dominant and offensive focused.
I’d be completely fine if they added accurate missiles (among other stuff like FMs and Radars) even if some countries underperform because that’s accurate and people shouldn’t expect Thailand to compete with something like France or Sweden.
So basically what I’m hearing is the equivalents already exist for every nation, they just need to model performance for them and give them to us. If they say “maps and game modes aren’t ready for those” I don’t wanna hear it. Not my problem lol

i heard that they use english for their callouts and stuff for a2a, because manderin isnt too great for it
and to make things simpler i wouldnt be suprised if the hud is in english too
(at least for me it would be pretty akward to constantly switch languages)
It isnt in meters its an abittary number with no value afaik, as most missile have it set to like 0.125-0.175, they just fumble with the valued until they get the results they want
Imo, a valid assumption would be that a longer missile should usually have a larger distFromCmToStab value (assuming similar form factor and weight distribution, which is why i picked the missiles above), because regardless of if the value is in meters, or unitless, the physical distance from the control surfaces should increase with an increasing missile length, but its not the case as seen above.
AAM-4 has a value almost 50% larger than that of AIM-120/R-77 despite having almost the exact same size
PL-12’s have the smallest value despite being the longest missiles
MICA shares a value along with most of the other missiles despite being the shortest by half a meter
Toss in other missiles and it gets even weirder:

Fakour 90: 4.25m / 0.35
