No it’s a different engine. The little ring of the nozzel are of different lengths. IDK what it is though, since the other one is a WS-10. WS??

Do Chinese Flankers ever get crazy CAS like the Russians?

Mainly asking about Long Range GPS Glide Bombs.
But do they also have any equivalent to something like the Kh-38?

Kinda, some Chinese planes can get kd88’s, which would probably be bit busted in game right now, but other than that there isn’t much that we don’t already have.

not really, its long range is not useful in game. so it’s pretty like a big AASM.

isn’t LS-6 already in game

Could get seeker ones.

Kh88, does it get gnss and man in the loop?

IOG + IIR with man in the loop

I was looking around in Statshark’s sensor viewer and i noticed that both the J-11A and B have the same MAW system with the same front and rear coverage even through the A is the one that has front and rear sensors while the B only has rear, is that a 3d model bug or Gaijin getting the MAW system on the B wrong?

Intentional probably because they too lazy to model a MAW that don’t have front sensor or maybe again so the aircraft would stay competitive (which is ironic if so).

does any of the chinese radars (doesnt have to be on a flanker) have nctr?

Probably not publicly

Are the maw specs on the J-11B even publicly known? Maybe Gaijin just copy-pasted the one on the A because that has info available from export models

Not intentional (kinda), I made a bug report on it showcasing the difference of model and it got rejected. I believe they probably didn’t even notice the MAWS on the sting of the aircraft and copied the values from the J-11A assuming it inherited the same upgrades.

When the J-11A was first introduced in the developer server it didn’t even come with a MAWS and it took multiple bug reports to get it added, they probably nicked the model from some poor guy, underpaid him and used the model in-game without knowing any of the characteristics for the J-11B.

Yeah it’s entirely the wrong MAWS, from what I’ve heard it should be a IR MAWS unlike the optical one as found on the J-11A and it obviously is a different model/make; the model is also correct.

Funny enough the J-8F is yet to get its MAWS Gaijin promised to give it, they really love gimping Chinese vehicles or giving them ahistorical attributes out of laziness

I thought they rejected that a long time ago? I remember them saying it was not installed/installed on a different model or something, and all the reports on it i found were marked as “not a bug”

They made a developer blog on the introduction of MAWS for future patches a while ago and stated that both the J-8F and Harrier GR.7 would receive it, the Harrier GR.7 got it albeit with copy and pasted values from the F-111A iirc but the J-8F never got it even though we got the exact MAWS make in-game (it should be the same as the one found on the J-11A iirc).

I’m 90% sure it had it in real life

Gaijin also said that the J-8F was incapable of firing the PL-11 but there was no sources supporting this stance Gaijin reported on (even though many sources stated otherwise), because of this the vehicle had to suffer for quite a WHILE until the introduction of ARH missiles since it was rocking only IR missiles in a age of SARH.

MiG-23M (the guy) contributed to this misinformation “campaign” of sorts and if he had an agenda we’ll never know this is all from memory.

It should be rear aspect only
