Not sure if anything has ever been posted about it before as I haven’t had a chance to check, but does anyone know anything about the IRST on the J-16?
I’m wondering if either it hasn’t been upgraded by the Chinese or if it has and whether it functions similarly to the one on the Su-35S, where it can act as a targeting pod

If pl12 can really restore its previous stats, I believe pla will still be a lot of fun. Although it’s not as melee as r77-1 or mica, it’s very average.
Before they butchered it, PL12 could turn very sharply off the rails. Almost close to R-77. If they revert the changes i see myself and many others will be back to J-10A gaming since it gets that 85° gimbal limit. At the moment PL-12s have literally nothing to go for, i have played maybe 5 matches in total in total ever since the change even though i really like the aesthetics of J-10A. Didn’t even bother to crew J-15T and J-10C.

If the PL-12A gets its old agility back, it won’t be average at all — it’ll be legit strong, right up there with R-77-1 and MICA as T0.

It was never as good as the R-77 or Mica in terms of instantaneous pull. Its performance was closer to the Derby/R-darter, perhaps with a little more FinAoA. But it also had a pretty respectable range, which is what made the PL-12 special.
Any change to the J-16 after the dev update?
