From what I understand, from @BBCRF says, it’s the exact same air frame, with only updates electronics, and most if not all weight savings are from electronics. Just want to know if there were composites in the original j-15, not the b or t version
Yes, there were, the aircraft was built using j-11b technologies
As in, there were composites, or it is the same air frame?
It used composites. There are many photos of j-15 aircraft on the Internet without camouflage, the composite parts are clearly visible. Its body is very similar to the Su33. Cousin
the day he adds the J-15 I hope he will give it WS-10H and not just AL-31F
They can’t do that because the ones that have those engines are the modern ones with aesa and pl15
The Al-31 is also a normal engine. The main thing is that it should be given already, a flanker with a normal radar and missiles, something at the level of myths or legends. Yes, and here on the dev server, the su33 has a good flight model
The flight model is disgusting as well as the exterior
Afaik it isnt “good flight model”, only that thanks to canards it can pull some good AOA
Other than clipping (stuff goes into other stuff), what is wrong with visual model?
mostly same, early version have no composites, late version have some in tails and horizontal tail, not much. No idea for J-15T, must be more but don’t know how much.
Yes, this is what is what I was talking about. I was sure that later j15 has composites, but was not sure if the first few had composites, thanks for clearing it up
Quick reminder since I’ve seen multiple people do so here… Once something gets deleted there is no need to ask for “what was said…” or “why was this deleted…” simply bring those conversation to PMs with moderators instead of creating even more off-topic here. Thank you :)
They made the flap and flaperon one piece, the front support sticks out strongly
J-15 is actually based on T-10K-7, not T-10K-3.
Otherwise while there are images of some composite used on J-11B, none exists of J-15.
So the only weight saving on J-15 will be from rewiring/new electronics.
J-15T shares more components with J-11D, which features composite vertical stabilizers and also inside the inlets. But this is not likely to be added until 3-4 major updates later.
Hopefully j-11D comes eventually. Probably the best air to air flanker in the world
It would be good.
Although I’m not entirely sure about Gajin’s policy on prototypes.
It seems to be arbitrary most of the time.
I mean they did give Yak-141 everything it was planned to have.
