having played both the Mig-21SMT and the J7E, i disagree on the cannon, the J7E’s cannon is much worse at least in my experience.
that might just be me though, but i hate these slow firing soviet 23’s in anything past 9.0.
but well otherwise yeah.

I’ve played both the J-7E and J-7D thoroughly and I honestly prefer the cannon found on the J-7D, the ammunition count on the J-7E is one issue but the biggest issue is the fact that the cannon on the J-7E does absolutely jack sh*t for damage.
The cannon found on the J-7D may have bad ballistics but at least it packs a good punch when shells land or that’s what I’ve experienced so far

Load the APHE ammo, usually one taps the enemy. Also if you’re not used to the balistics I recommend waiting to shoot until you can get within 500m from the enemy, the plane is strong enough that that shouldn’t be hard to do.
I use AP on the J-7E and I’m talking about when shots actually do land on target, the only thing I usually get is a pathetic hit but on the other hand the J-7D absolutely disintegrates enemies with its cannon.
Sending 4 omnidirectional locking PL-5C to J7E on 11.3 would be better
it would need to go to 11.7 or 12.0 if it gained all aspects, the J35XS is 11.3 with worse missiles and flight perf

No, J35XS needs to reduce BR, which does not affect J7E’s ability to obtain PL5C. In history, the main armament of J7E should be PL8A. On the other hand, all 11.3 aircraft in the current version have omnidirectional attack capability (whether radar guided or infrared guided). Moving to 11.3 without omnidirectional attack capability would result in a disadvantage for J7E in armament
And there is no difference in flight performance between PL5C and PL5B. However, due to the larger FOV caused by omnidirectional locking, the anti-interference ability of PL5C is worse than that of PL5B. Therefore, J7E obtaining PL5C in 11.3 will not affect balance

Well, thank you Gaijin. IS so fun to play in a tornado ADV only against 13.0 planes and having to deal with the grippens. As always you are the best at making the game worse

Meh, it’s like 60% uptier 30% on tier and 10% downtier for me at 12.0
to me is more like 80% 13.0 and the rest are 12.7
I never see 11.0.
