SEPECAT Jaguar

I’d play a French jag with magic 2s. Been wanting one for a while. Might even give me cause to get my Sim stuff out, as it currently isn’t looking very worth it for any of the attackers I like.

It would be super fun for me, I missed the IS event and I’m ok console so I can’t go get it ok the marketplace unfortunately.

Even better, have the thing not overheat after running it on 100% throttle after like 5 minutes.
It’s extremely garbo regardless, too bad cuz it looks cool

What’s too advanced on the Jaguar GR3? It features nothing that isn’t already in game?

Tbh adding Magic-2 to Jaguars would bumped them in BR,… in such so hard that the Flight model wouldn’t be able to follow at such BR.

Already the reason why German Mains are despised to have F4F at 13.3, even if AIM-120 are handy for such aircraft.

That’s why a foldered aircraft for people like me who don’t really care if it would be a sufferbus it would just be fun

Jaguar IS already exists and yeah, it’s not worth it. Kinda wanted Aim-9Ls for the Jaguar Gr1A for quite a while till I tried the Jaguar IS. I’ll stick with 9Gs for now

Meybe the ASRAAM (?), but it can also carry 9Ls, so it shouldn’t be an issue. The ground navigation mode is supposedly pretty cool, but no planes have that as of yet.

Jaguar GR3A used ASRAAM in RAF service

They didn’t

Following an assessment of the cost effectiveness and operational benefits of this project, we have decided not to proceed with integration of the ASRAAM onto Jaguar GR3A.

But GR.3 was equipped for it and an ex-RAF GR.3 was used to certify it for India. It would have been approved to carry them in emergency use, but was never certified.

You sure?

Think those are ASRAAM and I’ve seen it discussed elsewhere they used them.

Thats a ACMI pod my guy.

This is what you’re after, but this was testing, never made it to service;

Other than that test its just the Indian DARIN III Jaguars;

The suggestion needs updating then.

11.0 with 9Ls, then, although Gaijin does have a history with adding vehicles and armaments that didn’t make it into service

Personally I think a GR.3 absolutely should have access to ASRAAM.

They were fully equipped for them with the intent to support ASRAAM from its original intended ISD ~1999, and the only reason they didn’t carry them in the RAF is because of funding, and delays with the missile’s acceptance into the RAF.
Captive trials and initial integration for GR.3 were carried out as far back as 1998 when ASRAAM was first handed over to the RAF for integration on Tornado and Harrier. Using XX833 which was the twin-seat Jaguar 97 (GR.3A) testbed operated by DERA.
GR3_Captive
Certification for safe flight and firing with Jaguar went on to be proven for Indian service - again with ground trials and integration for India being carried out with an RAF jet (XZ117), before IAF Jaguars took to the air carrying the missile.

So really there would have been nothing stopping the GR.3 having the capability of using ASRAAM in a wartime situation with emergency clearance. At any point from when the missile reached IOC in 2002, until it was finally accepted in to service in 2005 and the decision to finally retire Jaguar from the RAF took place.

Can’t help but notice it was mounted on a CRL each time, would’ve been reasonably trivial to convert that to the CRL/BOL had it been accepted into service.
