Either way, manufacturer brochure shows that there isn’t datalink used in LOAL operation.

Who is using DL for the Darter anyway? Missile is barely effective at anything over 10k.
Sure if they rework it then great. Cant see it having a massive impact as the seeker is basically active at those ranges.
In theory, it would allow for a missile to be fired inside the radar FoR but outside the missiles FoV, like we should be able to do on the AMRAAM.
It is also usually a good idea to maintain DL in look down.
