Pretty much yeah, the pod likely just adds another layer on top freeing up the built in system to focus on detection/defence instead of attack. (The same sensors that do RWR are the ones doing the EA as far as i understand it)
That is lively, however I do not know the extent of what a modern AESA can process datawise with both sending and receiving signals (receiving both it’s own returns and other signlas from enemy fighters).
I do also think the communication links might be going through the same sensors as well for the updated Jaktlänk but this is just a guess.
Doubt it, i don’t think they send encrypted data using radar signals that would probably risk making them light up on enemy RWR. But i honestly have no clue and i don’t think anyone will be able to get that information :P
Prettt sure that is also how it is done with the MADL datalink in F-35. Since it is directional only to the receiving plane it would still be be hard to detect. Plus with frequency hopping it is incredibly hard for any RWR to find a modern AESA antenna.
The LPI of modern AESA radars is not often enough thought about, that stuff is scary.
IIRC along with frequency hopping, they transmit the minimum power they can to detect but not give off any warnings to the enemy, at the least, the RWR unable to recognize and detect the signature even if it receives it.
Reducing side and back lobes as well as much as possible.
Integrate with sensor fusion and data linking systems, and you have a very sophisticated battle space with radars and what not.

They’re not exactly inclined to positive changes to Gripen. Otherwise maws would have been fixed by now.
I’m definitely feeling the low speed performance drop. It feels like it wants to fall out the sky when coming in for a landing, which are a bit more rough right now.
As a soul with significant familiarity with frogfoots in game, it now feels like a very comparable landing profile.
I’ve smashed my landing gear more times in two days than the rest of my time with the E combined.

That’s what I just said. They looked at it long enough to bring the weight into line with (badly interpreted) documentation, but nothing else that they’ve every piece of documentation available to prove.
What’s wrong with the report? Saab advertise the Gripen E as having an empty weight of 8,000 kg (it’s currently 7,700 kg in game), so it’s not as bad as it could be.
