Eh, still think it would be better to change it to a more open ended response rather than leave it as is but i digress
how is '“in general” not open ended?
Its a preference as per my own wording “More open ended” its fairly easy to skip over “in general” imo which is why i suggested making it more open ended
Not to mention the BOL pods right now are weaker than they are currently in game (Although that would buff other aircraft as well). I get the limitations of modeling electromechanical dispenser as the dispensing pattern is a bit unique from regular chaff/flare cartridge but nerfing it based off its weight is a little funny.
And if anyone is curious about the BOL dispense pattern, here’s a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmsLIqZifBU
I could list pages of problems with the swedish air tree but that doesn’t make it unique, at least other nations get vehicles that are 90% correct or are 100% we haven’t had something like that in years
Yeah, especially when the domestic top of the line jet fighter is found in other nations now. Japan is soon to receive the JAS-39E via thailand at some point now since they have ordered them.
might not happen anytime soon since they have gotten the su30mkm
if japan had not gotten the malaysian sub tree then i would have said the same, but now i dont think that it is the case anymore
It doesn’t mean they wont get it and then it won’t matter again, sweden will have nothing unique to itself
I guess it’s the consequences of having sub-trees in other nations. Why grind for specific vehicle built by this nation when you can grind it in a different tree since xyz nation gets a subtree with the same vehicle.
Even then it would be avoidable but Gaijin wants to keep all variants equal so all Gripen C models in game perform the same and have the same capabilities when they shouldnt.
Keeping it fair for everyone while not being fair for Sweden
The fact they wanted Sweden to get an A with all of the limitations that entails whilst everyone else got the C is pretty indicative they don’t give a damn about treating Sweden with any level of courtesy.
Is anyone else having troubles “supercruising”?
Not at all.
What loadout? How much fuel? What altitude?
also what loadout
Full a2a loadout at spawn alt in rockypillars 30 mins fuel
Edit: might be too low alt for it im not fully familiar with that specifically
That’s a lot of fuel x) i usually run like 15-20 minutes in the Gripen in general.
But yeah, that might be too low.
No mention of loadout here though and it’s the early prototype.
fuel load dosent matter for top speed tho
it will affect the acceleration but wont stop you from super cruising
Maybe?
I don’t know exactly how the game handles it but a heavier aircraft needs more lift to stay up so more of the input power will be used to convert drag into lift through the control surfaces or alfa angle so it might increase drag as a secondary effect of needing more lift to stay at a specific altitude.
This could maybe be worth a report? I believe Gripen is underperforming in acceleration quite a bit, according to the guy that made the initial STR nerf report. (I can’t @ him? Maybe changed username?) Acceleration was never corrected after STR nerf, and if the current STR nerf report also goes through it certainly won’t make the situation better. Overall Gripen FM is a mess and I’m not really interested in making it
Edit: that article is from 2009 though, I wonder if that’s prior to Gripen E gaining weight, if it ever actually weighed 7.1t?
They are mentioning the “Gripen Demo” in that article which is the modified JAS39D that was used as a testbed before the E got it’s dedicated airframe.
Not only that, but news articles can’t be used as sources.
