The second image you see a Blue J35J on the left: That was the last Swedish J35J that flew before being taken out of service. It received a special paintjob of dark blue and then on top of the Draken: A skull with a top-hat (Which represented the squadron emblem of Johan Blå) and on the delta-wing tail: Ace of hearts.

If you can show where the ALE-40’s can be mounted on the Draken that would be great, either through photos, diagrams and/or manuals that would be great though my main issue with that is that as far as my knowledge goes, the Swedes never used the ALE-40. Hence why I mainly focused not only on the SAAB built CM systems mounted on the tail section that was mounted on Austrian, Danish and Finnish Drakens (Yes the J-35OE’s can also mount CM’s and it’s the same amount that the Finnish Drakens can carry) but also the Kaspel KB which is the CM pod that the Attack Viggens used
The Austrian Drakens are derived from the D model which confirms that the Regular D Draken can mount them, the Finnish Drakens were either of the B models (which has no CM’s) or of the F-1 model which can. Finnish F model Drakens like their Swedish counterparts were upgraded to J model specs. The Danish ones were the odd one out since even though it’s a D model derivative, it has some extensive modifications and changes mainly so it can do ground attack sorties

I wasn’t saying Drakens could use ALE-40s, I was comparing the ALE-40 dispenser on the F-5A/E/F-20 to the CM dispenser system on some of the Drakens, in that both appear to be bolt-on systems (and seeing what Gaijin has done with the ALE-40, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Gaijin to give the J35J the tailcone dispensers seen on other Drakens, even if it’s technically ahistorical).

This will be controversial, but I say give it fictional countermeasures.
This aircraft would be extremely hard to balance due to its advanced armament and electronics without them.
The S 35E was capable of carrying Kapsel KB countermeasure pods…the same ones on the Viggen, I believe. 24 CMs per pod, IIRC.
Let the J 35J mount these, even if it couldn’t IRL. These would limit your A2A options, so you would have to choose whether you will risk running without flares/chaff, or whether you will take fewer missiles and more defenses.
I posted a less technical reply below on the same subject, but I fully agree with your suggestion to allow ahistorical but technically possible Kapsel KB pods.
Just makes sense for balance in-game. We have too few Draken variants, so throw us a bone, Gaijin!
