R37M already does this job very well, both against AWACS and fighter jets
ks172 would’ve been much more insane as it had thrust vectoring while also having 400 km range
Was he completely abandoned or do we just not hear from him anymore?
abandoned in the mid 2000s after India decided they won’t fund it
sad
Maybe saving it for an up coming event or premium?
Also the SU-30s mass production was halted due to the collapse of the USSR, so only 10 where built and only 5 delivered to the military. Once the Russian economy recovered post 2010, they upgraded to the SU-30SM based of the work they did for India with the SU-30MKI before restarting mass production. So the domestic Russian SU-30 was never a mainline fighter in any significant number which may be why they skipped over it.
very cool aircrafts.
Could I humbly ask which website you’re using?
Also to whoever said MiG-35 can use R-37M/RVV-BD, no it can’t… That was from when it originally was gonna get Zhuk-A and 5 wing pylons, was more or less scrapped after the former was delayed into oblivion and the latter cut from the drawing board.
I mean rvv bd export brochure says MIG type fighters can use it… also the rvvbd export video lists mig35 as a carrier.
ofc this is hypothetical export MIG 35 with aesa, the in service mig35 ofc cannot use r37m because it still uses n010m
Maybe, but at least I’m having fun instead of getting mad over how others play… it a game dude. I thought we finished the arguing.
true,
i feel r-37m will come in game when the aim-260 is done
That would make sense, as aim 260 should have around the same range (albeit a bit more)
yes, to make things even.
Going off of brochures is unreliable in gaijin’s case… that’s how you end up with Su-30SM having Kh-38Ms ignoring the numerous other things it shouldn’t have in it’s weapon options… Plus they’ll offer anything on any aircraft if the customer wants it let’s be real…
Here’s one MiG-35 brochure out there, doesn’t even mention RVV-MD or RVV-SD, let alone BD…
And I don’t know why everyone thinks the AESA was mainly for export… Russia was going to use the AESA too if the program didn’t fall flat from lack of interest and funding, The ~6 MiG-35s out there today only use N010M due to no other real option being available… Plus MiG-35s wouldn’t even really use R-37Ms in russian service at this point, too short ranged and just overall worse than the Flankers… Even Russia can see that unfortunately…
