HISTORY
The state received an offer to take over a Savoia S.13 flying boat as a gift from Consul General Rudolf Olsen in the spring of 1920. The offer was accepted, and the aircraft arrived in Horten on 22 January 1921, rather late. At this time, Savoia wanted to sell flying boats in Scandinavia, but this did not come to fruition. The first test flight was on 14 March 1921, but rot was soon discovered in the veneer at the bottom of the aircraft, and extensive repairs were necessary. There had probably been water in the plane when it was sent. the work took almost a year. However, the tests were otherwise very successful. The aircraft was very fast, almost a ten-seater fighter, but was still little used, and scrapped in 1928 after long-term storage. in 1921 the aircraft was registered F.38, but this was changed in 1922 to F.50. Both registrations were painted on the aircraft
