HISTORY
In 1921, the airport at Kjeller was expanded and could receive more modern aircraft. The air force was to be strengthened, and one of the first measures was the purchase of five Bristol Fighters from England.

The Bristol Fighter was a British two-seater fighter plane which, towards the end of the First World War, was one of the best that could be obtained. The type was still in RAF service when the planes arrived at Kjeller in November 1920. These were very solid and well-equipped machines. The engine was a 240 Hp Puma, which meant that this was not the fastest version of these planes, but they had a usability and reliability that was unknown in Norway at the time. These were the first real combat aircraft in the Norwegian Air Force and were equipped with one fixed and one or two movable machine guns. The planes were decommissioned and scrapped at the turn of the year 1933-34, but one plane was given to the Technical Museum in Oslo. Unfortunately, this plane was eventually cut up due to a lack of space at the museum
