RN Roma: City at Sea

I know that - it is explicitly explained in the video I posted.

Sorry about that. I realized I was answering a question that wasn’t asked AFTER I posted.

Yes that concrete. So 150 mm of concrete would mean 52.5 mm of RHA, quite effective.
On the other hand If that 150 mm is just ‘air’, air is 0.05 RHAe on ground, so it would be only 7.5 mm of RHA.

Doesn’t Roman Concrete have a different multiplier to modern concrete? :P

Is there any way I can get clarification on this? @magazine2

Navweaps lists them for various ships but not Roma:

but none of the other 120mm guns are said to be on Roma either

For those not sure what we’re talking about, here’s a pic of them on a model of the ship - either side of hte lighter coloured AA turret:

found this on another discussion about Italian starshells:

According to “The Littorio Class - Italy’s Last and Largest Battleships
1937-1948”, Bagnasco & de Toro, in addition to the 240 rounds illumination
rounds carried for the dedicated 120mm illumination battery, 50
illumination rounds per gun were carried for the 90mm guns as well. There was apparently
an illumination round for the 90mm. It is not categorical proof that
illumination rounds were carried for 90mm guns aboard Italian cruisers, but
it is inferential in that direction.

I imagine this is a flaw in the dovbleg. If the Roma had them they’d be the starshell guns and I don’t even know if they could shoot any other type of round. So very likely not modelled as functional weapons and therefore a … mistype … in the dovbleg.

Yes other ships have them modelled but not functioning - I recall discussing them some time back, don’t recall which tho

Littorio class has, and yes as you say, they were starshell guns.

what is the penetration we got in the dev that 60 mm worse than irl

I don’t know where the hell those penetration went from… 598 is definitely not from historical shell velocity.

for sure and the soyuz got an imaginary pen

Soyuz’s pen is acceptable level. Just Roma is too low.
Actually Yamato’s pen is imagainary level. It’s about 40 mm higher than it should be.

yeah wo got like 60 mm less than the real shell and i think that they will never change that if the penetration still the same at the end of the devserver

and thats after they made the shells slower by -20 M/S

I would really like to Gaijin’s sources cos the velocity of the Roma shell is literally imagination
level

i don’t understand how they use that calculation work it’s so ramdom

even in the dev it’s 850 m/s but i don’t know how they got that pen
